This historic, pedestrian-friendly neighborhood is full of excellent restaurants (mainly, but not exclusively Italian) and coffee shops, as well as worthwhile gift and specialty shops. For tourists it is easily accessible--it has its own trolley stop on the Green Line and is not far from most of the downtown hotels.

I work near Little Italy and enjoy the restaurants and community spirit of the Farmer's Market on Saturdays. The restaurants are world class Italian food and walking the streets day and night are fun people watching. If you come for the Italian festival, it's a great experience but beware that you will eat a lot of great food!

The Little Italy Area of San Diego is a Quaint little strip that is esoteric and artsy crafty too! However, the host of fine Italian Restaurants have made Little Italy a San Diego Favorite for Decades.

We love walking the streets of Little Italy, lots of shops and restaurants. There is also a farmers market on Saturdays which is blocks long.

Enjoyed walking around and visiting the various shops, motorcycle, antique, jewelery and eyeglass, clothing. Fairly easy to park. Airplanes do go right overhead for landing and it can be a bit noisy and un-nerving until you get used to it.

Filippi's is a small hole-in-the-wall type Italian restaurant! The food was AMAZING - they must know it too because they let you select 2 half portions of 2 different dishes as your meal! I had the lasagna and ravioli -- yummers!! We also ordered the antipasto salad - delish! Filippi's will definitely be a part of my visit the next... More

Boy has this area burgeoned in the last few years. Gone are the quaint Italian eateries of yesteryear. Replaced by trendy and fun restaurants and bars frequented by locals. Times have changed.

We were fortunate to select a hotel next to Little Italy. It is a wonderful gathering of some wonderful italian restaurants. We spent each night searching for a different venue to experience as much as we could of their food. Certainly something that will be very high on our agenda when we are next in San Diego.

There are many restaurants and most have outside sitting. Excellent for dinner but it is a bit hard to find free parking, we had to park it in a parking lot.
