We toured Cape Cod during its off season at the end of October which is definitely a very quiet time to visit. The beach was nice with pretty views, pretty shells and some things nearby to check out. The playground across the street is the...More

Mayo Beach is my family's favorite for long walks. You can walk from the pier all the way to the channel by Great Island at low tide. There's lots of interesting things to see--the remains of the pilings that once held a large hotel (swept...More

This beach borders the Wellfleet Harbor area, and is a pleasant place to relax and enjoy the beach. Waters are calm due to the protection of the harbor area. Some people were enjoying a swim, others were paddling a kayak, and a number of others...More

There are so many beaches in Wellfleet, you have a LOT of great choices. There are ocean beaches, Pond beaches, and bay beaches. Then there's Mayo beach which is sort of a harbour beach. It's extremely quiet surf, and when the tide goes out, it...More

I lived in Wellfleet for over 5 years and Mayo was my most frequent stop on a summer day. The beach is kind of an amphitheater surrounding Wellfleet Harbor. It starts at the pier and wraps around north towards Great Island. This is a family...More

While on vacation visiting the beaches of Dennis, Orleans, and Nauset I thought that we would head up to Wellfleet for the day. I figured a day on the beach and oysters for lunch. From the reviews online I settled on Mayo Beach. What a...More

I've been coming to Wellfleet and Mayo Beach for the past 35 summers, first with our kids, and now with the grandkids. The water is calm and perfect for kids, and a favorite of the cottage renters along Kendrick Ave. For swimming, be sure to...More

With so many beautiful beaches around I'm not sure why someone would go to Mayo Beach. It feels more like an extension of parking lots nearby, not really a place to chill in the sun.

Nice little beach near the pier and harbor of Wellfleet. We parked at this location and it seems like it is free parking and you don't need a beach sticker like most beaches in the area. We went to the beach at high tide and...More

Depends on how many people will be there and the tide. During the summer the beach gets crowded. If you're there at high tide it takes up a lot of the room. As other people have said here, check with with the town Hall.
