The park is a nice idea and during nice weather makes for a good stroll area, however, during our visit there was a lot of trash and other debris along the river. If the trash was cleaned up this would be much nicer.

Carlsbad has the best park within hundreds of miles. In the summer you can swim, all year long you can fish. There are walking trails. It's a beautiful place to visit.

Take a break at the lake. Buy sandwiches and bring them to to the park. Plenty of benches and tables. Take a walk around the lake. Good spot while on our cross country road trip.
