If a person has family members (parents, etc.) that came to America and immigrated thru Ellis Island, you want to visit this landmark. Do a search on your family member and buy a copy of their manifest. Well worth the money for the history.

This is such a great piece of American history. It makes you appreciate all that we have being several generations removed from early immigrants. We learned so much and were amazed at all the immigrants went through just for a better opportunity.
