Build sort of like a fortress, maybe a castle of money. Lots of power in this grand building that we stumbled upon while walking from Wall Street to City Hall.

Very interesting guided tour. You get to know about Federal Reserve Bank structure, about NYC branch building, get to see the vault. Keep in mind it’s not very easy to book. Check the official site for details. Booking for specific date opens several weeks in advance at specific time. Since the tours have very limited capacity and demand is high, tours are fully booked in first minutes. So it’s worth setting a reminder a couple of minutes before the date you are interested in becomes available. Also note it’s not allowed to take photos inside, but you will leave with a lot of new memories)

We didnt know you could do a tour of this place and that it is free but we will certainly get tickets next time we go to New York. We saw the building from outside and took photos whilst passing.

The entrance doors have "Employee Only" signage so let the security officer on the sidewalk know you are there for the tour, and after an ID check, you are radioed in for clearance to enter and go through airport-type security check. Very easy.

I was hoping to hear more about monetary policy but the tour is focused more on visiting the very impressive vault of gold. Still very welcoming, informative, and def worth my time for my 10th visit to NYC. You can tour the museum part while you wait for the tour to start and stay as long as you want after the tour to see it all. Restrooms in the back of it. I appreciated the 3 complimentary graphic novels available which explains the system to a younger audience.

Tickets are so hard to come by so if you sign up, pls attend. Our group was def less than 25.

Very interesting and different way to spend an hour. Worth the planning to book and don’t forget your ID on the day.

If you didn’t know already... it’s hard to get tickets. Tickets open up 30 days in advance but they are not on at weekends and not necessarily on every weekday either. Some days have 1 tour, some 2. I had read a cheat sheet on how to get tickets and it was perfect advice. Be logged on to the website a few minutes before 9am EST and be poised to go, stop at the point it asks u how many tickets. As the clock strikes 9, select the number of tickets U need and boom, you have them!

The tour itself was great. Led by the Lovely Anna, we had a great hour today. Really interesting and well presented and then down to see the largest amount of gold (1/4 of the global gold reserves) in one place. Well done and a little bag of shredded money at the end. Something different that doesn’t follow the masses and really enjoyable. Proper shut out to Anna who was super friendly, knowledgable and clearly loved what she does. Shame no pictures but understand why!

I tried for days to get tickets at 9am and then sent an email to them asking why some days were not going live for tickets. She explained not all days are available but - now this is key - she told me that there are cancellations and they go LIVE once the cancellation is received, soooooo, I have a computer with dual processors so I kept the Fed open on one side and used the other for browsing and doing my work and lo and behold one of the blocks turned blue around 11am before my very eyes and I jumped on it and secured 2 tickets. I had been trying for days but only thought to try at 9am and then I stopped. I think most people do too, so just keep it open all day and you would be surprised that tickets become available throughout the day. I am going September 3, 2019 - can't wait!!

Take the guided tour. You have to reserve in advance on their site. The highlight is the largest gold vault in the world - bigger than Fort Knox.

This was very cool and its Free!

Here's the deal. You need to be online 30 days prior to when you want to go to reserve tickets. I believe its either 8am or 9am. The tickets are gone in about a minute. Seriously. There are 2 tours, 25 people at 1pm and 25 people at 2pm. Monday thru Friday.

Everyone must have a printed ticket and an ID to get in. (children dont need ID) You will also go thru a metal detector.

You take an hour long tour learning the basics of banking but the highlight comes at the end when you descend into the ground to see the vaults and the reserves of gold. Wow. very cool experience.

The building itself is very cool architecturally inside. There are beautiful vaulted ceilings and a tremendous amount of beautiful iron work.

The gold is amazing!!Fantastic free activity to do in NYC. You have to book 1 month in advance. There isn’t coat check , so just bring a small backpack. It was rumored you couldn’t ring any bags but that is untrue.
