Peek into how a super wealthy NY banker lived at the turn of the century. Sumptuous interiors, an unbelievable document and book collection. 3 Gutenberg Bibles!! The museum is not too large. Easy walk from Times Square but a world away. Expensive entry fee. Sundays in the summer they have live string music in the afternoon. We ate in the... More

This is one of my favorite places in the city. Walking into Morgan's library is like walking into the past. Seeing his home, his office, his library, makes you feel like you are touching history.

Loved the library. Just a quick visit this time need to spend more time there. Beautiful building and a welcomed respite from New York heat. If you are a teacher you get a 10% discount on any shop purchases.

I love the Morgan. They always have interesting exhibits, but just the space itself is awe inspiring. I always bring visiting friends here and they are consistently impressed. Sit, enjoy a glass of wine, and reflect. Repeat often.

Always has good exhibits! Rembrandt and an exhibit about Historical Rome at the moment. Also worth having a look at the Gutenberg Bible and illuminated works in the library. Really nice open venue for the cafe. Highly recommended.

Just a wonderfully preserved and excellent space -- they sometimes have small special exhibits such as the one I saw on Hemingway -- it is not a terribly time consuming place to go either -- but definitely worth dropping by

Well JP Morgan loved his books! This library is amazing. Not only is it beautiful it has incredible books. It has a rotating collection as his collection was so vast. The interior design and paintings/rugs/frescos are breathtaking. Did I mention that he owns 3 Guttenberg Bibles!!! One is on permanent display. Amazing.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
