Patricia & Darresha: Disgusting Employees at Sheepshead Bay Theatre Location
May 2023
Good afternoon Today I arrived at the Sheepshead bay Theatre with 4 of my staff members and 8 teens with disabilities to attend the super Mario show starting at 1:20pm. When we arrived it was 1:35 and I asked if the movie started as yet to which I was told it will start in 5 minutes. Once I explained that we were a group as I described the lady Darresha began to act very rudely, rolling her eyes, stating something under her breathe. Then she said she will charge me adult price for each person. I explained that we usually receive senior tickets for the kids. (Because that’s what the receipt says when we have purchased in the past). Darresha did the correct thing at first by calling the manager to verify. A associate named Asher came over first and attempted to assist Darresha who was very inappropriately explaining to him what we were trying to confirm with a smug attitude like we were asking for special treatment. While they are doing this a line is growing behind us. The manager came over and Darresha began the same display to which the mama gate matched her energy and as they spoke among themselves as if I wasn’t there the manager is saying “no way, we are not doing that.” Darresha is now like “exactly she right there, go tell her”.. The manager whose name was Patricia, came to the window and began screaming with an attitude and facial expressions immediately AS IF SHE ISNT TALKING ON A LOAD SPEAKER”. “She leans over the desk bringing her body to the window as if we had a previous engagement that is now about to be a fight, and says “listen, I don’t know where you got that from or when that’s been done but it doesn’t happen here and we don’t do that.” I explained to her that I am not arguing with her nor is it a problem, I am just telling her what we are accustomed to. She continued to shout through the microphone as if she was commanding an animal. “I SAID WE DONT DO THAT, I DON’T KNOW WHERE THAT IS DONE OR WHO DID THAT FOR YOU BUT ITS NOT HERE” in addition to sucking teeth rolling of the eyes! “ WHERE ARE THE FIVE STAFF!? I NEED TO SEE THEM!!” Then asks do you have a company ID or something. I gave her my ID and she began to write down my the information and then stormed away with no word. She was absolutely discourtesy and disgusting to be a representative of regal movie theatres. The children from this children’s residence has attended this regal for over 13 years.. some are grown adults now and still enjoy coming here. I think it was totally disrespectful and amateur.. The customers on line behind us were taken back just as we were. About three times I had to ask “what is all this tension and animosity for”.. Reason being Darresha, after seeing the way her manager behaved towards us, she used that as permission to continue her managers Patricia’s disrespect after she walked off.. I know that this is the last time I will bring my residence to this movie theatre unless I hear that these two disrespectful, unmannerly and Ill trained woman are replaced.. I work for Heartshare Human Services as an Assistant Coordinator and I will also be reaching out to every manager in network to make them aware of this interaction and to ensure they don’t come to this theatre to face humiliation and disrespect like we endured today. When we originally got here we had 5 minutes to get to our seats instead we got into the theater 15 minutes into the movie. I am so stressed that I am literally standing in the hallway typing this e-mail opposed to watching the movie. Please do not ignore or dismiss this complaint because I’m almost willing to take this to the media if I don’t receive some sort of apology or acknowledgment for the treatment we were given today at your theatres by your manager Patricia and Darresha her sidekick subordinate. Darresha’s appearance sucks!!! coupled with a bad attitude and a very unpleasant face. She should be the last person that you put in the front of your movie box office. If I did not have those kids with me I would have taken my money elsewhere but the kids would not have understood why we had to leave and it could have triggered behaviors. She is disgusting and her uniform was a mess, her hair was a mess and you could easily see that she did not take a shower before coming to work.. that is not an inviting approach. Patricia your manager is a brawling woman. She has no patience, respect or courtesy. She should never be a manager. Instead of addressing a calm situation, she escalated a situation that needed no escalation at all. She should have never been put in that position just based on her demeanor. I can imagine that the dysfunction of this theatre goes way beyond these entry level individuals and I do believe this is a detriment to your theatre that’s already suffering low box office sales. These woman need to be addressed as soon as possible because their behavior was absolutely disgusting, ghetto and unwarranted.

I was really impressed with this cinema. It is easy to find (a 2 min walk from Times Square), very clean and the reclining seats are comfortable. There is a good selection of drinks and snacks. Can’t fault it!

There is a bag check on the way in, we were told it is to check we aren’t bringing food or drink in. Something to be aware of if you are visiting.

I booked tickets on fandango which was quick and easy using Apple Pay. You then just scan the barcode when you visit rather than having to collect or print tickets.

We only decided to go to the cinema as it was raining and came across the Regal by chance. The Art Deco style of the building is delightful but the seating was a real surprise - the most comfortable seats I have ever experienced in the cinema. Fully reclinable, the only danger is that you'll fall asleep if you've had a busy day sightseeing!

Prices for the film were cheaper than in London, but we steered clear of the food and drink as these looked expensive.

As we had to use a restroom first we kindly asked for it first, but was very rude told to buy a ticket first. This inhuman behaviour cannot be accepted. Therefore we left this rude cinema and their unfriendly employees. One star is actually already to much. Bad service

We decided to try out the cinema experience whilst in USA. The staff were friendly, venue and restroom clean, service efficient and comfy leather lazy boy seats.

We had an issue of a customer refusing to move from out booked seat. The staff handled it promptly and politely allowing us to enjoy the movie experience.

We went to see a movie in the regal theater. We were bye the staff showed to the wrong screen inside were we could that there were something wrong.

After that our movie was supposed to start at 10:40 am but the personal did not got i started before 11:15, not telling the to total of 4 people in theater why the movie was delayed or compensating whit some free popcorns.

Besides from that the theater have good and comfertable chairs, but you get a feeling that the place is abit outdated, and the screen felt very blurry at times.

1/6 from here.

If you decide to kill some time by venturing out to movie - don't go hungry! The tab for eats was over $65 for 4 of us! Popcorn not the best! Theatre seating as usual for a movie.

This theater was a savior on a chilly rainy Sunday in the city. I purchased our tickets through Fandango, they emailed me the confirmation and we were able to walk right in.
