I love to go to Times Square just for the energy. My favorite time is early in the morning when no one is out everything is closed but the lights are all blazing. Feels like you are the only person in the world. A must see at least once.

Times Square is always a great place for people watching and street entertainment, during the holidays it seems even better. Very crowded but well worth it..

Always amazed when I visit Times Square the layout is now fantastic for people walking around also and the time of year made it feel extra Christmas spirited, lots of the shops are currently changing so I cannot wait till these open hopefully some more toy shops especially now toys r us have moved,

Crazy place but a place you must visit. The lights, the action, the people - amazing. Need to be aware of your proximity to traffic and the untoward individuals (although we had no issues). Must see - day and night.

Wow what a place. Vibrant, colourful, and so much to look at. The queue for the theatre ticket looks daunting, but is well organised and the service is quick, but be aware you are only able to buy tickets for any available shows to see on the day, there are no advance sales from this ticket office. Grab a coffee... More

Time Square has gone thru numerous transitions. It was a scary and dangerous place before it became "Disney-fied" in the era when Guiliani (American's Mayor) transformed it into a place where families could feel safe walking with their children. One thing that up until a few years ago was always true was that Time Square is the crossroads of the... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
