We ate at 8 different restaurants ranging from pizza to meatballs to cheese plate to cookies to cannoli to olive oil... Our tour guide Marie was a wealth of information of Greenwich Village history and current status. Highly recommend, you'll learn so much more than trying to walk Greenwich Village on your own.

My family had a phenomenal foodie adventure with Jordan at the Greenwich Village walking food tour. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and the stops were delicious. This is such a wonderful way to work through a neighborhood. If you have 3 hours to relax and nosh- this is the ticket!

I attend the original Greenwich village tour along with my partner. Our tour guide was Curt. He absolutely made this tour excellent. He was really knowledgable above and beyond the food and history which he discusses during the tour. He was very comical and very much the kinda guy I would love to go to the pub with. But to... This three hour tour of Chelsea Market and the Meatpacking District with Darrel as our tour guide was so much fun! Darrel was funny and engaging and provided a great history of the Market and Meatpacking District. Unfortunately due to icy conditions we could not see the Highline. The food tastings were amazing and provided us with a tasty glimpse... More

Our annual girls weekend in NYC needed something new. A food tour will be a new tradition. Marie was very knowledgeable and passionate about her old neighborhood. Her insights of the village were fantastic. But truly the FOOD was amazing. Each stop was the best!

We had been to NYC several times and were looking for something a little different. Seeing Brooklyn and tasting our way through the borough was a lot of fun. Rick, our guide, was knowledgeable and interesting. The food was great and the driver did an amazing job.

This was such fun! Our guide, Bert, was entertaining, knowledgeable, and respectful of a neighborhood he clearly loves. It was a perfect balance of food and history. I cannot wait to go back to NYC, so I can spend more time in the village! Thank you Food of New York Tours. Nancy.

I've been to Chelsea Market several times with guests but never took a walking tour until today. Wow!! What a fun tour! Darryl was an entertaining and knowledgeable tour guide, and so full of history and stories about the neighborhood. I would definitely seek him out again as a tour guide. I learned so many interesting details about the market... More

Staying in West Village

Neighbourhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighbourhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
