Beautiful and much photographed bridge in Central Park. Built in 1862, this Victorian-era bridge is the second oldest cast iron bridge in the United States. It has been included in countless films and the image of rowboats passing underneath on The Lake is so serene.

As well as the wonderful different green spaces there are within Central Park there are some beautiful pieces of architecture to admire as well.

The Bow Bridge is a perfect example of this. I first knew it from Home Alone 2 and I also saw it in an episode of Broad City too.

It is quite close to the Bethesda Fountain and is a way to get across the lake within the park.

You can get lots of shots of it from the surrounding area and it is also a perfect place for selfies and to get more pictures.

We were on a long walk in Central Park and passed this very pretty bridge, a classic feature of the Park. It's on the way to Strawberry Fields.

Bow Bridge in Central Park is a beautiful sight and can be viewed from a number of areas in the lake. Nothing like Central Park on a fine sunny afternoon.

I visited the Bow Bridge once in December 2021 and once in January 2022. The first time I viewed it from a distance and took a photo. The second time, I walked from Belvedere Castle, through The Ramble and then to Bow Bridge. It was full of people. I walked across the bridge. I was hungry and there was a guy selling food so I bought a large pretzel. The path after crossing the Bow Bridge leads to the Bethesda Fountain.

Bow Bridge is a cool place located in the center of Central Park. On one hand it's only a bridge but on another hand it's iconic place. Romantic scenery, beautiful view on Bethesda Terrace, breath-taking landscape of Manhattan - ideal place for photo and for making a proposal. If you are lucky enough, you can see many men making proposals. Must see, must visit. Worth your time!
