Still offering the steam and sweat since 1892, these health spas are alive and well in New York where people get stretched, steamed and pounded as they relax and renew themselves.

Boy the reviews for this are all over the place! This place is a LOT of fun, and can be very affordable with groups or promos, but definitely manage expectations. If you go in thinking this is a high end luxury spa, or a holistic...More

I really wanted to have a wonderful experience here. In fact, i've wanted to experience an authentic Turkish bath for years now and since I'm in NYC this week I thought why not!  When I arrived it was pretty busy which was a great sign!...More

Not quite, but the Russian and Turkish Baths are a close approximation. Check your good judgement and your modesty in the safety deposit box with your watch and wallet, and in return you'll get a couple keys on a rubber band. The promised towels and...More

There is nothing fancy about the Russian Baths, very much a collection of steam rooms and plunge pools, basic changing rooms and a Russian eatery to the front with a roof terrace. I really appreciated its old school charm, the characters I met there, and...More

I've been going to the Baths for 25 years. On the plus side, you won't find an old-school Russian/Turkish bath like this in New York. It's a great spot to have great Ukranian food, see a cross-section of New York life, decompress and "sweat your...More

Don't ever go there. Whether straight or gay, unless you want to be talked to like a piece of crap. In my 69 countries and 34 states of the USA...is the absolute worst place in the world!!!!

I have been in many saunas but this one of the oddest. It's a bit worn down and quite small. Still in New York it's one of it's kind.

There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village,
which offers plenty of unique small businesses
catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college
students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the
old-time neighbourhood feel that you can still
experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned
shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of
the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to
