Love Soho. Went for lunch and didn't leave for hours. Just wandered the streets shopping, looking at buildings, had lunch and later a view drinks at a smaller pub. It was safe, easy to move around and reasonably clean.

Soho is filled with local shops, designers stores, restaurants and bakeries. Location is perfectly situated to visit Tribeca, Nolita, Little Italy, Chinatown, Greenwich Village, LES.

I like this area of the city as it retains the feeling of old New York before the onslaught of glass and steel banalities that have blighted the Midtown area unfortunately. Needless to say there are plenty of restaurants ranging from fairly cheap to expensive. Great area just to walk around on a nice day.

This used to eat a funky little neighbourhood full of great old buildings, apartments, and quaint, unique shops. Not any more. Those cool shops are gone and its block after lock of high end retail chain stores I can shop in anywhere else I gave travelled. How disappointing that was for me. I was here many years ago and hoped... More

Nice place for shopping at a cheaper price. Also is close to Little Italy and China Town. Great place to admire architecture.

Great shopping district and my teenage girls loved it as well. It is Black Friday so it was pretty packed in every store we went in. The stores should really drop the heat a bit.

Every time we come to New York, SoHo is a must for it's many shops, restaurants, friendly and creative street vendors, and art. My favorite place in the city.

This was once a very interesting art filled neighborhood- rising rents have driven out a lot of interesting shops and galleries to cheaper locales. Go once and then head to the lower east side- the present happening neighborhood.

This area is super fun to walk around, go into shops and also do a little street shopping, I highly suggest checking it out if you're in NYC!

SoHo's artists are pretty much replaced, with some exclusive art boutiques (no prices in the windows) and the real estate has soared. First visiting this area in a depressed time, it now has got its mojo back with excellent coffee shops, taverns, restaurants, bars and boutique places. It is also a good spot to base yourself whilst in New York.... More

Staying in SoHo

Neighbourhood Profile
Once the artistic hub of New York City, SoHo (South of Houston) is now one of the premiere shopping destinations in the world. Housing everything from the most popular luxury brands to swank boutiques you won’t find anywhere else, this is a sophisticated shopper’s dream come true. Broadway teems with big-name stores and people during the day, while Prince and Spring Streets are the other main drags to explore by foot. Take a detour down the quieter side streets to see the real star of the district –majestic cast-iron architecture everywhere you look. What were once warehouses and art studios are now meticulously restored loft buildings favored by many of New York’s celebrities, making SoHo one of the trendiest addresses in the city. The pretty streets of Nolita (North of Little Italy) offer a more sedate vibe, with plenty of tiny boutiques and hip restaurants to seek out.
