My twin sister goes to Barnard, so I visit quite a bit. I don't understand why one would come visit Columbia if they were not visiting a student or considering attending the school, but there are some grand, beautiful, buildings here, and the location is altogether nice with a myriad of shops and restaurants, as expected of a student area.

As we were staying in Harlem, we walked over to Morningside Heights through the park and looked around the Columbia University campus, as well as Riverside Park on the waterfront.

This university is huge. Lots of buildings in this area are part of the university.

After a long exploration (admittedly without a map or guide), we went for dinner at Tom's Restaurant, apparently a student favourite.

It is a major institution in the city with lots of important buildings. We came to see the Cathedral, but it was closed due to Covid. So we did a little walk around the campus, which was nice enough.

My son is a prospective student for Columbia. There are no in-person tours due to COVID, so we did a self-tour while visiting NYC on vacation. The main campus is beautiful. The wide steps in front of the Low Memorial Library stretching out into the green-space in front of Butler Library is iconic and impressive. We roamed all around the various buildings and gardens, including a peek into St. Paul’s. It was all so stately and magnificent. We finished our tour with the bookstore. Even if you’re not a prospective student or parent, I recommend a visit to the Columbia University campus.

Doing several self guided tours with my children in their junior and senior years. I was pleasantly surprised by the beautiful campus and it's true campus feel. I assumed that because it was Manhattan it would be more "city like" and it was, but Manhattan can be as big or as small as you want to make it because the campus does pull you out and into its own environment. The campus was bright and extremely well maintained. It was historic and you can feel the history. One of the things I liked was that once you stepped foot on the campus the street noise just disappeared and the campus and large building on the outside blocked out the noise. Great campus!

My visit to Columbia University as a part of the Indian Delegation to GSAPP was the high point. The walk from 46th Street 9th Avenue to Columbia University juxtaposed by Central Park to my right and New York to my left was an urban galore

Quick visit to the campus via subway from midtown. Very attractive urban campus and impressive student body (ACT 32-35). Easy to walk on foot and tour the campus. Vibrant bustle on campus now that school has started.

Columbia University has a beautiful campus in the Morningside Heights section of Upper Manhattan. It is an oasis of green in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Manhattan. It’s an Ivy League school and it costs a bundle so if you can afford to go here you’re going to get a good education.
