Good place for walking and enjoying good foods and shopping specially clothes. Bit older building and not so hygiene on the street.

Great energy and vibe throughout the neighbourhood. I enjoyed just wandering through the smaller streets and enjoyed the old buildings. There were so many restaurants along Allen street and Stanton. My only complaint would be how dirty it was and so much garbage everywhere. I...More

Wonderful street art all over the place - some great pieces. Small, nice clothes stores, restaurants and bars. This part of the City reminds me of SOHO in the early 80s.

This is a great place to go for old time New York deli food. Unlike anywhere else in the US. Not like it was in the 60's and 70's, but still worth a visit.

It was a very nice area to discover. We found a lot of nice gems in here and enjoyed that we were not surrounded with hundreds of tourists! :-)

The Lower East Side is certainly safe. It's bustling now, with plenty of restaurants, bakeries, and so forth. Tompkins Square Park is no longer Drug Dealers' Heaven. There are little mini-parks here and there, and some... More

The Lower East Side is completely safe, both to visit and to stay. I work there and never fear walking the streets. In the evening it can get a little crazy with all the restaurants and bars but this does not make it... More
