- Dimitris LSydney, Australia50,924 contributionsThe Charging BullThe Charging Bull, on Wall Street is an obvious symbol of the financial significance of this district on Wall street. Many admirers flock to take a close look..... Interesting! It's on the pavement and it's there for all to see, for free.Visited August 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten October 4, 2023
- therichastillStevenage, United Kingdom3,302 contributionsBring it on!There is a huge statue of a bull in the Financial District. I was intrigued to check it out on my visit to New York City. I visited in October 2023 and the statue is quite easy to find. It's not far from the Stock Exchange and not too far from Battery Park. When I was there the area was buzzing and there were two queues of people waiting to get their picture taken with the bull. Some lining up to be photographed with the head and some in the opposite direction to get their picture taken with the rear. Intriguing....Visited October 2023Travelled soloWritten November 16, 2023
- craig1086Atlanta, Georgia1,872 contributionsMake It A Stop While Near the Stock ExchangeThe statue is as advertised. A symbol of the U.S. financial sector and the markets. Just know that when you go there will be a long line queued of people waiting to take pics. Statue is quite sturdy. It's a 5-minute walk to the NY Stock Exchange, about a 10-minute walk to the 9/11 Memorial, and about 2-3 mins from Battery Park.Visited November 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten December 17, 2023
- TravelingSoccerLoonSaint Paul, Minnesota5,971 contributionsGood Photo Stop Near Wall StreetThe Wall Street Bull or Charging Bull is a symbol of Wall Street and the New York financial industry. I would certainly not make a special trip to see it but if you are nearby in Lower Manhattan, it makes for a good photo stop. Beware there will be a long queue waiting to get a photo with the bull. Best to just snap one and move on to more interesting things.Visited May 2023Travelled with familyWritten April 10, 2024
- usnamom2001Bellport, New York284 contributionsCan't miss the bull! The bull is iconic and just a fun place to stop while touring the Wall Street area. There was a line for photos but it went quickly and gave everyone an opportunity to have a photo without other people in it. Great photo op!Visited April 2024Travelled with friendsWritten April 15, 2024
- Justin WHasbrouck Heights, New Jersey6,133 contributionsAn iconic part of New York of the 1980'sThe Charging Bull sculpture has taken on so many meanings over the years. The excess of the 1980's, the greed of Wall Street, a struggling and a successful economy and success. Whatever you want it to mean, it is a part of the New York fabric and a must see when visiting downtown Manhattan. Get to the sculpture early for a good picture because it gets crowded especially during the summer and on weekends.Visited May 2024Travelled soloWritten May 10, 2024
- FLHarlockTavares, Florida4,942 contributionsVery popular, why???I stopped by here on my way to Fraunces Tavern. Found about a hundred tourists in line to take a photo with the bull. Not sure how this bull became so popular? I was happy to see it but not willing to stand in line for a photo. Took my photo from the side. Ha!Visited June 2024Travelled soloWritten June 9, 2024
- Ellie KBirmingham, United Kingdom461 contributionsPrefer the Birmingham Bull!It was good to see the Bull and it’s always nice to see statues, but watching people take part in the tradition of rubbing its balls is very strange. The statue of the bull also has its ribs showing so it’s quite sad that it doesn’t look healthy. I may be biased but I much prefer the statue of the bull in Birmingham!Visited May 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten June 25, 2024
- Ciro BNaples, Italy126 contributionsA Must-Visit Quick Stop: The Wall Street Bull in New YorkA visit to the Wall Street Bull is a must for anyone visiting New York City for the first time. I was surprised by the well-organized lines of people waiting to take photos—whether it’s from the back, touching the bull’s famous “attributes,” or from the front, hugging its massive head. Despite the crowds, everything moved smoothly, allowing everyone to get their iconic photo. Additionally, we found some of the best street vendors nearby, offering reasonably priced New York-themed souvenirs and gadgets. I definitely recommend making a quick stop here, not just for the photo opportunity but also for some great souvenir shopping!Visited August 2024Travelled with familyWritten August 27, 2024

I am not a big fan of outdoor art installations, but the charging bull on Broadway by Wall Street is an exeption. It has been featured in many movies and TV shows (Tim Allen in For Richer For Poorer was among the first to use the bull's back side as a visual punchline). It was conveniently located between the Fulton Street A line subway station and the battery so I made a point to see it. Had to wait on a gaggle of Indian tourists who hogged the area for way too long, then got in line with some Europeans. Most of the women laid down underneath and grabbed the bull, well, shall we say not by the horns and even licked. One of the dudes with them was noce enough to take my picture in an Allen inspired pose- no grabbing or licking involved. If you want more of a memory than a picture, vendors by the battery and along the street were selling smaller ceramic versions of the statue that would fit in luggage. I didn't look but I would imagine they could also be found in the NY gift shops on the avenue as well.

The Charging Bull is the work of sculpture Arturo di Modica. Weighing in at 7,000 lbs. the "Charging Bull"was created to symbolize "the strength & power of the American People". It's creation in the late 1980's comes on the heels of a market crash in December 1989. The Charging Bull can be seen on the Bowling Green median on Broadway in the Financial district. It is down the street from Trinity Church.
The "Fearless Girl" created by Kristen Visbel can be found today facing the New York Stock Exchange just doen the stree from Fedral Hall in the Wall Street Historic district. Installed 3/7/2007, she symbolizes female empowerment with her empowered posture. A plaque reads, "Know the power of women in leadership ...". Both statues are heavely traffic by tourists and often have a line for photographs.

Apart from the fact that this is one of Financial District's most touristy landmarks, I wouldn't say this is all too remarkable. This is what it is - a big bronze statue of a bull. But because of its popularity and proximity to Wall Street, there is always a line of tourists waiting in line to take a photo with the bull. The bull is a symbol of financial prosperity and was created by an Italian artist in the late 1980s.
If you do visit this statue and want to take a photo with the bull, be prepared to stand in line for at least a few minutes, depending on the time of the day. There are lines of people queued up to take photos both in the front and rear side of the statue. This attraction is fairly close to the Battery Park, 9/11 Museum and Wall Street, to name a few. If I were to guess, this wouldn't have been a must-visit spot in most other cities around the world, but it is New York after all...

In the finance capital of the US, this is appropriate piece of public art that is made for pictures. At the fork of two roads, it is the center attraction as you make your way to the Battery. Not only is it appropriate for the area but it really is an impressive sculpture. be sure to stop and get a picture.

It is just bull statue at Broad street but very famous. During peak hours (about 10am - 15pm), it will have over crowded and you may have to wait the long queue to take photo with it. I recommend you to visit in before 9am.

Honestly, I agree with many others. This is just a bronze statue of a bull. Why so many people queue for a photo of it's testicles is beyond me. If you MUST see this statue and get a picture, arrive before 0830. No queues, no people in the background. Just a bull and whatever you want to do with it.
The American Indian museum and Bowling Green park immediately adjacent to the Bull are way better; in fact, just check out the four large sculptures adorning the museum if you want to see something truly amazing.

A great statue and icon of the New York City Financial District and Wall Street, something that you will only see in NYC itself. I can understand why so many people want to see it, its been featured in many movies, television series etc.
The bull was created and installed with the goal to inspire people to carry on through hard times and celebrate the perseverance of the financial district.
We passed the bull a number of times and beyond 8-9am it is heaving with queues to take photos. My tip would be to get down there EARLY - I grabbed a bagel and jumped on the 1 line down to Wall St to lose myself in the streets at around 7am whilst it was quiet. There were no tourists, no street vendors - it was almost peaceful!

Nowhere else in the world you'll stand in line to touch bull's testicles.
But, many people do it here - in downtown Manhattan.
Huge bull bronze statue stands on a small square in front of the American Indian museum (in the ex Custom's house), and that's the prime attraction where even organized tours with a guide come ??!!
It's a nice statue, representing American people strength and endurance, but rather a pass by quick photo op.

Indeed, this is just a bull. But it can easily be associated with the NY Stock Exchange (the biggest stock market in the world) which, in good times, has a “bull market” and, in bad times, a “bear market.” Thus, it symbolizes the financial power of the US. Some might even say that this is also a symbol of NYC.
That’s why it appears that most times of the day, there is always a queue (or rather a loose grouping) of people wanting to take photos of/with the bull. We passed this statue several times, as we were staying in a hotel close to NYSE. We finally got the chance to take some photos on December 30, 2019. But it was quite difficult to take photos without some other people in the background.
We only got to take photos of the front and not of the behind.
If you’re a fan of the stock market, visit the place.

The Charging Bull is located on a pedestrian island at the end of Broadway in Lower Manhattan. Set Downtown, the bull is a popular tourist destination that apparently draws thousands of people a day. Certainly an enormous queue of people were lined up to touch the bull for luck when my wife and I visited the area.
