On 1/10/21 our family took an audio tour of Greenwich Village. The tour did a great job highlighting the unique sites and history of this area. Best of all, since you can go at your own pace, you can stop and shop or sample some food specialties . We had some trouble (our end) downloading the tour, so I recommend doing that at home. There is a small fee. Highly recommend this tour and look forward to trying others by Free Tours by Foot!…

One of the best things to do is take advantage of the many tours that Free Tours by Foot offers. I don't mean one tour, I mean take multiple tours during your stay if you can. In 2018 we took 2 tours and in 2019 we took 4 tours, all in NYC, plus another one in Charleston. Love that they offer so many options in NYC though some are seasonal. You get plenty of information and we really love the Food tours. We don't know how things have changed with Covid but our September 2019 tours were all greatly enjoyed from taking in Central Park, doing a nighttime walk, one of the many food tours and walking over the Brooklyn Bridge to DUMBO and Brooklyn Heights. All of the tour guides have been great, especially the native New Yorkers, and we have tipped them, we think, generously for an enjoyable number of hours. We look forward to taking more tours with them.…

My Mum (who is 70) and I did two tours with Free Tours by Foot. The Ground Zero and Brooklyn Bridge by Night and the Grand Central Station tour. Both were fantastic. The guides were incredibly knowledgeable and made the sight seeing experience mean so much more with the context they were able to provide. I would definitely recommend.…

A tour guide makes or breaks the experience and we were lucky to have stumbled into a STAR. Probably one of the best guides we had and we have been with many around the globe. Garret Shore is passionate about the city; his enthusiasm, knowledge, personality and antidotes makes for a memorable and extraordinary tour. We highly recommend him.…

I liked this tour and the guide a lot! Great parts: Lady Altovise makes the tour unique with her smart comments, funny jokes, good knowledge of history and sights, but also her interesting appearance. For example, it was Valentine's Day, so she was entirely dressed up in red. The tour itself covers a lot of spots, and a lot of famous hiphop and jazz names came up in the tour, related to locations. Other comments: the tour did have a few "selling points", advertising spots for food or shopping, but not too much. The way that the guide shared information was interesting and fun, maybe that is why I thought it could have more historic details and stories. Also, all of the tours we did in the USA have restroom and snack breaks that often last for about 30 minutes. So this tour started with such a break, which also included a small library exhibition on African-American history. All in all - it was a great experience, definitely recommended with Lady Altovise! :)…
