I took the Broadway Beginnings tour with Brett, and I loved it. He told fascinating stories with a lot of energy and flair. I was hanging onto every word!
If you have an interest in theatre, I'd say it's a must do. I want to take all of the other tours the next time I visit. I appreciated that he used a microphone and had an iPad with complementary images and video.

I did the Broadway Beginnings tour with the owner, Tim, as our tour guide. Tim was extremely knowledgable, and if he wasn't sure of an answer, he'd try to find it for you. He had a lot of interesting details and showed us things about the theatre district that I probably never would had known if I hadn't been on this tour. Highly recommend this tour, especially if you are in New York specifically to see broadway shows. My tour was on a Sunday so the start/end time (11am-1245pm) was the perfect amount of time for me to grab some lunch before seeing a 3pm matinee.

I went on two of their tours - Broadway Beginnings and Shubert Brothers & Beyond- with tour guides Brett and John, respectively. Both guides were so knowledgeable and familiar with the Biz, answering all my questions! Loved it! Will add a couple more of their tours next time I'm back in NYC!

I've taken a lot of walking tours in my life, and the "Shubert Brothers & Beyond" tour was one of the very best. For anyone with even a casual interest in Broadway, this was SO worth the time and money. Everything about BUCWT is extremely professional - from the easy navigation of the website, scheduling and paying for the tour, communications before and after the tour ... not to mention the fantastic tour guide (John was amazing)! I've been going to Broadway shows since the late 1960's, and I learned so many new and interesting tidbits. I hope to join the six-timer club!

There is so much history to review when it comes to the musical HAMILTON, and the Broadway Up Close Walking tour was a great overview of Alexander Hamilton's haunts in lower Manhattan in the late 1700's. As a precursor to the tour, I re-listened to the musical on my train ride up from Washington DC and found that a review of the musical helped enhance the content of the tour. Rhiannon Ross was our tour guide and completely entertaining with stories and iPad visuals. I have experienced other Broadway Up Close Walking Tours and have 4 more to go in my next visits to New York City.

What an excellent look at the early history of the Broadway theaters and how they've been preserved. Loved the behind the scenes stories. Our tour guide was terrific!

Hamilton Tour walk was brilliantly delivered by Rhiannon and very engaging. We were lucky enough to have her fully to our small group so could ask any question as she made us feel comfortable, AND she is RADA qualified. We also got lots of background and behind the scenes info to the production, like when Obama came... A thoroughly enjoyable and worthwhile tour with a great company and guide. Will try out another tour when next in NYC.

Our tour guide Tim was very personable, knowledgeable, and friendly. We learned a lot of cool, interesting insider information about several different theaters. We would highly recommend doing the Broadway Beginnings tour, and we will be back for the other tours offered!

Is there any way I can be sure to get Tim Dolan for our guide?

He does MOST of the Hudson Theatre tours but has nine actor/guides. Maybe you Can email him about a specific date of a tour he conducts when you are there
My family of 5 will be there during the Christmas Holiday Season. I would like to do the general tour, but we only have Saturday Dec 28 available. Is the Shubert Brothers Tour a good choice for a family?

is this tour appropriate for a 10 year old? I will be in NYC with him on a vaca!

Hey Jenny, Thanks for your question! Yes, we've had children as young as 7 years old on our Broadway sidewalks. It really depends on attention span and interest, but we have a lot of families join us - especially on our HamilTour if they're obsessed with Hamilton: An American Musical.

Tim, looking forward to your additional tour beyond 50th Street. Always interested in the background information & history of the theatre district. Especially the superstitions associated with the houses. And of course, your smiling face. When will the new tour be ready? Spring I hope. Alex.

Hey Alex, Great to hear from you! Yes, it should definitely be up and running by January, I think! I'm putting the finishing touches on it as we speak. This tour will actually be south of 50th Street...much further south...but that's the only hint I can give at this moment! Keep an eye on your email inbox just after the New Year for the official announcement and schedule. Happy Holidays and see you in the Spring I hope!
