From its inception, Macy's Herald Square was a store unlike any other. Over the past 150 years, it has become a true New York City icon. Built in 1902, Macy's Herald Square was the first building to have the modern-day escalator, and it has continued to be a trendsetter. Today, "America's Largest Department Store" covers an entire city block with 11 levels of the latest fashions for you and your home. Macy's offers a full-service Visitor Center on the Mezzanine Level, plus restaurants throughout the store and exciting events almost every day.

I went to see Santa at Macy's and it was truly magical especially with the express pass. I waited a max of 10 min before I saw him. The elfs take the picture and they can take it with your camera as well. After one...More

Macy's is the most beautiful store! With Christmas decorations every where. It can be a bit overwhelming. The store is very big. We visit here every Christmas. This year they handed out maps. I think we walked two miles in this store alone. We love...More

Let's face it - we've all seen Miracle on 34th Street. Ever since I was little, I've wanted to see this store at Christmas time - and let's just say, it didn't disappoint! The windows were amazing. Peanuts and Yes, Virginia themed - and soooo...More

My main reason for visiting New York in December was to see the shop windows. This was more exciting to me than the state of liberty. I'm not into shopping and didn't find the store itself that impressive but the window display was great.

Macy's is huge covering a whole city block, with 9 floors and 9 eateries. Generally they have everything. During Christmas, when we visited it it was mad. People everywhere, and no one including staff were happy.

Macy's is huge. Went in early November and was a little disappointed at the amount of Christmas stuff they had on sale, thought there would have been more. So many levels and hard to find certain areas. So much to look at. Worth a visit...More

As a native New Yorker, I'm biased - I'll admit it. But for the holidays, you can't beat New York, and the windows of our department stores. Macy's this year has wonderful Peanuts-themed windows, some of which are interactive. Macy's at Christmastime is not for...More
