I was a customer at J&R from day #1, when my parents had their business just two blocks away on Fulton Street. However, that was a different era. The building where my parents worked was torn down this spring and J&R closed its doors in...More

Based on reviews here I walked up to the store only to find it closed for refurbishment! Don't waste your time!

I always look forward to prowling the jazz/blues/r&b/Latin floor at J&R whenever I go to New York. This time, however, the building was shuttered. CDs had been moved inside the main store, but the selection was primarily standard pop/rock. Another floor was closed for remodeling,...More

Sadly one of the few record/CD stores left in New York. Located on the top two floors of this electronics store. Good jazz CD selection and vinyl at reasonable prices as well as rock/pop.

This store is amazing and has a great reputation. Well worth a visit to try out the many doors that take you to CDs, video games, cameras, computers, household electronics etc. Pretty good in terms of value and the range of goods on display means...More
