Neighbourhood: Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.

The blue/teal and white ribbons tied to each pole on the iron fence caught my attention. I crossed over to see what they were for...so moving to read the ribbons were for Suicide Prevention/Awareness and had the crisis hotline on each ribbon.

With so many churches to choose from on Christmas Eve, it's important to plan ahead as times vary. This was the perfect choice for us as it was welcoming and offered a wonderful sermon along with fantastic choir music and easy to follow hymns. After the service, cookies and coffee were offered in the adjacent building. Everyone was so friendly making our Christmas Eve a special one we will never forget.

I love this place and feel serenity when I am here. It is a release from my stressful job in Times Square and I enjoy leaving for lunch early to head here.

I tried to visit on a weekday. Was interested in this church as I am a fan of Norman Vincent Peale ( nice statue outside of Norman). Front door closed. Went to side entrance and approached office counter. They seem surprised someone was entering. They somewhat rudely said the church was closed and only opens on Sundays. Pity the people who would like to visit the church during the week ( like tourists). It sounds like a church that is isolating itself from the community. Catholic churches are always welcoming , open everyday for people to pray etc. and hold services everyday. I was not impressed.

I worshipped at Marble Collegiate 4 times during a visit to NYC this past Christmas 2012. Being an organist and choir director, I went for the music and I was not disappointed. It was outstanding. If you are in NYC during Easter and looking for good church music, I recommend Marble. The organ and choir loft are in the back and I sat mid-balcony so I could watch as well as listen. The ushers and parishioners are very freindly.

We were staying on 31st Street so this impressive old looking church was just around the corner from the hotel. Its architecture looks old but in fact it is not a very old building. The church is a very impressive NYC edifice. It is well used by the local congregation. Very well maintained inside and out.

This is a lovely church where I recently saw Marianne Williamson who appears there every other Tuesday for live lectures. It's a very welcoming and warm space. I recommend checking it out if you have time but not on any must do list of the city.

Another one of the many famous churches in New York, where many rich and famous got married in.
The church is very old and has a nice architecture. The organ inside is very beautiful.
