Vintners Cafe (next to the wine shop) is an excellent place to have lunch/brunch. They have very tasty affordable fondue served with baguette rounds, salami, apples, and cornichons. My husband and I love it. Get there early if you are visiting on a weekend, as they tend to run out of fondue selections. They are also quite small and table... More

am so sad to say, but this place has gone down hill! I've been to NY Vintners ~10x, but since Chef Ryan Smith left the overall setting has turned into a well oiled machine, versus a warm and friendly place to learn about wine. Yesterday, a gal pal and I attended the Sexy Cheese and wine pairing class. Upon arrival,... More

We attended the Sexy Wine and Cheese Pairings class. The Sommelier was extremely knowledgeable and clearly enjoyed sharing this with others in a fun and understandable way. The pairings were well thought out, definitely adding to the enjoyment of both the wine and the cheese. The setting, a long table and chairs, ceiling created from wine crates, and softer lighting,... We had the pleasure of enjoying a vintner's dinner while on a business trip. I expected a wine tasting, but did not expect a chef-driven culinary experience. They did an excellent job of wine pairing with the courses (antipasto, grilled peach salad, sea bass and steak, olive oil cake). I worked for the premier luxury hotelier for 13 years and... More

My boyfriend and I went to the wine 101 class to get a basis of wine and enjoyed the experience. The group was fairly large with a mix of wine lovers and people just there to drink. The instructor was great and knowledgeable. The place has great decor (we were in the cellar). We were both able to take away... More

We came here as a group for a pizza and wine pairing. We thought it would be a great time to get more knowledge on wines and enjoy some good pizza. Overall it was good, we really enjoyed the pizza and wine, and they were very accommodating that some of us did not eat meat, to make sure meat was... More

I took the Bad A$$ Reds class. Elan was engaging and instructive. What a great way to spend an evening. I came alone and the atmosphere was conducive to a solo traveller. Looking forward to another class next time I am back in the city!

Staying in TriBeCa

Neighbourhood Profile
TriBeCa
What’s in a name? In this case it is the unique title of “Triangle Below Canal Street” that became a popular nickname in the 1970s. An attractive neighbourhood filled with handsome lofts on the edge of the Financial District, this lovely slice of Manhattan offers plenty of fine dining experiences and art galleries. Plus, it’s home to the city’s most exciting film event, the Tribeca Film Festival, that takes place here every year. TriBeCa is a great place to take a leisurely stroll before stopping into one of the many local restaurants or bars for a satisfying meal and cocktail. You’ll see families out for an afternoon walk, and don’t be surprised to come up with the occasional celebrity sighting. With such a great vibe, many of the city’s most famous residents call this neighbourhood home.
