A group of 6 of us arrived at St Patrick's Cathedral early on a damp morning in early April and Jack arrived shortly after. He explained the plan for the day ahead and we duly followed him past the Rockerfeller Centre and through the streets of mid town, lower Manhattan, Grand Central Station, the Empire State, out to the Statue... Well we thought we had a purchased a bus tour but we were listed down for a walking/subway tour - that was a surprise. Thankfully there was space available on the bus tour (which leaves from the same location), and so an extra $20/each got us on. For our first time to NY this was a fabulous way to see... More

Save your legs and jump on a bus tour. Sometimes you receive good information through ear phones as you travel but other times I found the tour guide used it as a soap box to complain about the economy and politicians. Be prepared for the hard sell on tipping them also. It's fab but can be cold on the top... More

Our guide Jack was a great guy. It was like walking around with a friend. He had lots of fun snippets of information which were entertaining and interesting. 9 hours was a long day but we really enjoyed it. It gave us an introduction to the subway which gave us the confidence to use it ourselves. Lunch was great value.

We usually get a tour for large cities because, well, I'm on vacation and I don't want to stare at a map/gps and it's easier to pay someone to find all the sites for us. If you're like me, then this is a great tour since it hits a lot of the NYC checklist sites such as Empire State Bldg... More

Wow! This was great all day walking tour. Our guide Jullian was awesome! He was funny and knew so much about New York. He kept our group together and I loved the foam finger on his telescopic pole, you couldn't miss him. This is a fast paced walking tour, but you see everything! Great for our group since we only... Starting at St. Patrick's Cathedral, we visited all the favorite stops - from Grand Central to the Statue of Liberty to Battery Park, Wall Street, China town, Little Italy (lunch at Paesano's was great!), and Empire State building and more - we even rode the subway and a NYC bus! Julian, our guide, was superb, had a great attitude and... More

l would highly recommend this tour. I've been on it twice and it is a great way to get all the main attractions of the city in and the tour guide was excellent at giving us the history of all the locations. The express pass up the Empire state building allowed us to skip the queues and we had adequate... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
