Very eccentric selection of patrons! Definitely worth a visit. The cocktails are nothing to write home about, but they had some good beers and there was a good friendly atmosphere in this neighbourhood bar. A few scenes from Flight of the Concord's was filmed there, hence the reason for the visit!

Fiend and I were staying in a cheap hotel in Chinatown.....saw the reviews for this place and photos looked interesting. Decided to walk to check it out and went in. Have to say I was pleasantly surprised!! The place is packed and the decor is amusing and eclectic. Menu has a New Orleans theme. Glad I decided to walk in.... More

Found this New Orleans themed bar by accident while walking around Chinatown. This bar has a nice laid back atmosphere with friendly staff. I didn't realize how long it has been around. Definitely one of my new favorites. Have a couple dozen of their tasty oysters and wash them down with a cold drink.

One of my favorites in the city. It's not too expensive and the decoration is awesome. You'll find all kinds of people and the music is never obnoxious.

We've been here before, why because you can have a can off beer & a large shot for $5! This place was on the same street as out hotel so too convenient. His time we tried some snacks, mac & cheese & a Philly cheese steak, Which if you're English is much like a doner kebab in a roll! The... More

Came here to meet up with some friends from Atlanta and stumbled upon this place. When you walked in you are greeted by the bouncer and we found a table. In the back you have a pool table which is free to use. Also you can text your order to the waitress ( a little weird at first, but you... More

This bar is good fun! It was packed when we went on our first day of NYC so we were tired, but its hard to stay that way in here, loud music and full of people. We had $5 beers and shots, whats not to like about that price! I'd have liked to have visited more but there are so... More

Reminded me of something from the 80's! Nice bartender but really sloooowwwww. Ordered margarita's with Don Julio, rocks, salt. Got 2 drinks for $21, practically no rocks and the worst thing ever: TABLE SALT for the rim! YUCK! C'mon guys, kosher rock salt at least??!! Waited forever for merely a glass with ice. In any case, liked the place. Happy... More

Staying in Lower East Side

Neighbourhood Profile
Lower East Side
Straddling the bridge between New York’s thriving immigrant past and its modern transformation into a beacon of global art and culture, the Lower East Side is one of the most dynamic neighbourhoods in the city. The blocks of tenements that represented the promise and blight of the Lower East Side immigrant experience now command top dollar for new residents. Right next to old-world delis, 24-hour bodegas, and the garment shops of Orchard Street, you’ll find hip clubs, fashionable bistros, and luxury hotels beckoning at all hours of the evening. If you love nightlife and live music, it’s hard to beat the scene here.
