- LeeTrotmanLos Angeles, California282 contributionsSimply the GreatestWhen I heard that my favorite Broadway play was ending after 35+ years, I immediately made arrangements for myself and teenage daughter to see it. There are plays and then there is The Phantom. The best score, storyline and performers measure themselves against this giant, and the raw emotion of the performance commands your attention from start to finish. The memories of THIS performance will not be forgotten and the standing ovation was truly earned.Visited January 2023Travelled with familyWritten January 10, 2023

- Bri4 contributionsAmazingI’m a huge fan of this show, and when I heard the show was closing on Broadway, my husband and I had to see it one final time. Great performance from all the actors but the beautiful score is what really is unforgettable. You leave the theater in complete awe. Go see it if you can.Visited January 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten January 24, 2023
- Jax20152015Oklahoma239 contributionsSee before it closes! It was everything I expected. I’ve never seen it before and it was my second Broadway show. The Orchestra was superb and the performance was outstanding. It was well worth it. The chandelier movements was surprising. The only negative thing I would say, which had nothing to do with the show, is that this show was my daughters senior trip gift and we had a nine year old sitting next to us that talked the entire time, smacked gum and put his feet on the seat in front of him. We were mostly able to ignore him. The show closes next month and we went on the 75th birthday of Andrew Lloyd Webber with a special playbill.Visited March 2023Travelled with familyWritten March 23, 2023

The most amazing musical I've seen. Period. The costumes, the props, the staircase, and of course the chandelier - they were all so well done. I felt like I was even watching a movie. The performance and the music was fantastic. At times you'd get chills when it got to scenes with the Phantom. And I loved how at the end I could hear sniffles all across the theatre (perhaps even my own) - people were totally immersed in it (as was I).
I have to share a funny anecdote just before getting into the theatre. As we were lining up to get in, a few middle-aged women were all hyped up and started taking selfies. One of them yelled into the camera, "Grandma, we're here, after 25 years!!" (not sure what the back story was to that). Then some random guy walking by started singing a tune from one of the songs from the musical and the women cracked up. They were so happy and excited - it was a little annoying that they took selfies non-stop in front of me but their excitement was contagious.
I made sure to catch the show before its closing in February (now April). It's sad but it's good to know it'll be performed in different languages and reach a greater worldwide audience. I hope it does come back to Broadway one day.

The show was excellent. I saw it 30 years ago & it still did not disappoint. Wonderful singing & cast. Get there early! Tight seats in the theater.

Seeing the Phantom of the Opera on Broadway has always been on my bucket list! When I heard it was leaving, I just had to make the trip to see it! And boy was it worth it!! Having seen it numerous times with the travelling cast, and in the West End, the show still never disappoints! Andrew Lloyd Webber sure knows how to write a classic show! The talent was absolutely unbelievable! The sets and the costumes were amazing!
Whether you've seen it 1000 times or you've never seen it at all, make sure to go before the Broadway run ends!

Still one of the top Broadway shows after 35 years. The decor is amazing and the cast absolutely great. Most seats have a good view, so no need to purchase the most expensive tickets.

Seeing Phantom next weekend. January 2023. Has anyone done the stage door after? I would love to get Emily's (Christine) autograph.
Is the chandelier In the Phantom of the opera still falling from the back of the theatre to the stage

Of course! The show wouldn't be the same without it!
Is it a good idea to get tickets now for the January opening?

Hi! I would wait a few more month before booking tickets - the Broadway League said that shows will open over rolling dates in early 2021, which means that some shows might have to wait a few months after Broadway technically re-opens to actually reopen. Maybe wait until later this year and see what the deal is with Broadway then... just so many uncertainties right now :(
Phantom is the best! I hope that when you get to go you will love it!

Hoping to see the show on July 25, 2020. Where is the best place to buy tickets this far in advance? Surprisingly it looks like there aren't many seats left!

Does anyone know if there are tours behind the scenes of the theatre at any time?
Also is it possible to meet the cast after the show at the stage door?
Coming over from the UK in a few weeks to see the show for the first time outside of the UK

I dunno about tours but yes you can meet the cast members after the show. It’s usually placed after the exit on the side and you would wait quite a while until they come out, and not all of them do, only specific cast members come out each time and you wouldn’t know which ones. Enjoy your time! ✨

We are attending this show on a Tuesday night with showtime at 7PM. Does this mean the show will start promptly at 7PM, or is the time doors open? Meaning it will be out promptly at 9:30PM? Trying to coordinate dinner before or after. Thank you!

Starts at 7pm doors open about 630 and then show does end at about 930 pm
