Magnet offers a variety of comedy shows everyday of the week. The shows are consistently recommended by critics, tourists, locals, comedy snobs, and people looking for a great cheap date. Beer and wine are also available.

The theater features talented and experienced (and exceptionally funny) improvisers doing some of the best comedy you'll see anywhere. The schedule is loaded with shows ranging from long form improv, musical improv, duos, scripted sketch comedy, storytelling, free jams open to anyone, and one-offs featuring special guest stars. Plus, free student performances take place all weekend at the Training Center Studio.

We also provide some of the finest instruction in Improv, Sketch Writing and Storytelling.

Group and corporate training is also available via the Magnet Genius Machine, and our phenomenal improvisors are also available to do private shows (we can travel to your city/country!)

I stoped in on a whim while on a business trip in NY. I love improv and when I found out about the place, I had to stop. The show was two groups of women tag teaming and performing skits. Most of it was funny and I wasn't at all disappointed. The price was right and they had a small... More

Not what I expected from the comedy theater & not improv. 2 Women read from a script - a first date with one pretending to be the female and one the male. interspersed with the date story, they individually read "letters" they supposedly wrote others or a story. Entertaining hour and not bad for $10. The writing wasn't half bad... More

My boyfriend and I had seen an improv show while travelling. That's why we wanted to try it out in New York City. We went to the Magnet Theater once and have not even tried other places, because we loved it so much. We always come on Friday nights and the performers really do an incredible job. We especially love... More

I have nothing but good things to say about the Magnet, it's cute, intimate and funky. The reservation process for tickets was pretty... More

Improv comedy isn't for everyone (see the hilariously out of touch review below, where a woman said that people should go to Disney World to see "real improve"). But for the people who love it, it's amazing. It's also a little dangerous! Since it's being made up on the spot, it's possible to see the best show of your life... More

Enjoyed an Improv show at the Magnet. The theater is intimate and easy! Tickets only $10 for a great hour long show. Appropriate for teenagers too and so much fun.
