We love central park and the mall is especially a fun walk in the shade. There are always some music playing and/or some street performance. It is also fun to read the dedications on the different benches.

I walked five times in Central Park during December 2021 and each time I walked on The Mall. It is my favorite part of Central Park along with Bethesda Terrace and Fountain. The Mall has many statues. For example, Christopher Columbus, William Shakespeare, Walter Scott, Beethoven, Schiller and many others. There was a monument to Women's Rights and a bandshell. There are many vendors selling paintings. I found it a really great place to walk and also to rest on a bench. It was enjoyable. For visitors entering Central Park at 59th Street and Fifth Avenue, I recommend stopping at The Dairy Visitors Center to get a free map of Central Park and then proceeding on to The Mall.

It's all beautiful, the statues and allusions to literature, the big trees that cover you, the benches and the walkway, and now the monument to women's suffrage. Just as pretty as it can be.

Visited this part of the park for the first time. Its a nice long straight, wide stretch of walkway with benches on both sides. Some statues and memorials along the way too. Great place to spend some time relaxing and people watching.

The mall, a lovely walk through Central Park, lined with great statues and ending up at Bathesda terrace.
Definitely worth the time to walk.

The Mall is the main walk down the park to get to Bethesda Fountain. During our visit we saw many different acts and artists including a great dance group, a puppeteer dancing to R&B and a incredibly talented young sketch artist.

Take a stroll through The Mall. There you'll encounter various works of Art. Stop maybe and have someone draw your portrait. Must visit for the summer.

The Mall is a fun and easy walk to do in Central Park. On days like yesterday (60 and sunny) many people were out enjoying The Mall. Go mid week if you can and enjoy!
