We found the Fountain when strolling thru Central Park. It overlooks the lake and there is always a lot of different entertainment going on. From wedding parties to street performers, there is so much to see!

We walked through the park to the fountain area which is lovely for photos - busy part of the park, lots of people & horse carriages about. Lovely view across the water to the boathouse.

Finally got to visit after watching John Wick 2. The Angel of the Waters, the statue refers to Healing the paralytic at Bethesda, a story from the Gospel of John about an angel blessing the Pool of Bethesda, giving it healing powers. I can only imagine what it's like during...More

Great spot for photos! I've seen this in so many movies & TV shows and wanted to see it in person. It is beautiful and such a great spot for pics. Make sure you walk through the tunnel and look up at the ceiling!

Cool place to check out. No water in fountain since it was winter. But it was cool to be in the place where lots of movies have been shot. Home alone and John Wick for example. Missed it during our last visit to NYC so...More

Central Park is my favorite park and I have been to parks all over the USA & Europe. I visit this angel first. No adequate words. See it and embrace the ambience.

Looked forward to seeing this all day. Was a little disappointed that the water was drained from the fountain as it takes away from the ambiance. Since there was no water, people were sitting in the center on the fountain. Still amazing to see though.

While the fountain is quite beautiful, there are a lot of people trying to capture their picture with it, so you may have to wait a bit to get a nice picture/view of the fountain. Good vantage point from the above stairs looking into the...More

We found Bethesda Fountain a beautiful place to stop, draw breath, and admire the scenery. Yes, it’s busy, but don’t let that put you off - or go early!

This is a truly beautiful, glittering fountain located in the middle of the park. I passed it on the way to the Bow Bridge and the Ramble while bird watching., When I stopped to admire it, there was a crew of construction workers resurfacing the...More

The answer my friend, is blowing in the wind... literally. It's the weather, not an arbitrary date which determines the fountain's functioning. It's been turned off in warm weather too, if there's a drought, and times when... More

Yes. There are entrances to the park at west 72d street and Central Park West and East 72d Street and Fifth Ave. The Terrace Drive is essentially an extension of 72d Street and connects the two entrances. The Betthesda... More

On weekdays -- yes. but it is tricky, doable on weekdays only and probably a bad idea. Get out your map. On weekdays, not weekends, cars can enter the park until 6 or 7PM at 6th Avenue and Central Park So. (59th Street... More
