This is a truly beautiful, glittering fountain located in the middle of the park. I passed it on the way to the Bow Bridge and the Ramble while bird watching., When I stopped to admire it, there was a crew of construction workers resurfacing the...More

I think the best time to visit is on the weekend. There will be more people but it seems a little ominous with less people. Worth the walk for sure.

This is a Beautiful fountain located in the middle of the park, we passed it on the way to the Bow Bridge, and stopped to watch the various entertainers that were there. Well worth including on your route through the park.

One of the nicer spots in Central Park. There is nothing special about but it is so popular that you can not miss it.

Iconic NYC site you have to visit. It is just a fountain, but it's one that is shown in so many movies and television shows that you have to come see it. Great place to relax, people watch, and absorb a bit of NYC.

This is a pretty fountain in Central Park on a terrace next to the Lake with boating on it. There is an overview of the fountain (actually the ceiling for Bethesda Terrace) which is a great spot to take pictures

Although the "Friends" Fountain might be the most well known fountain in Central Park, this is by far the grandest. There are so many "Kodak Moments" to be had here from the amazing entryway, to the nearby lake and boathouse, and of course, the fountain...More

The fountain attracts many people during warm, summer months. It is a beautiful, peaceful area. The angel sculpture is a favorite of mine, featured in many movies and tv shows that are filmed in NYC. There are places to sit around the fountain and take...More

The answer my friend, is blowing in the wind... literally. It's the weather, not an arbitrary date which determines the fountain's functioning. It's been turned off in warm weather too, if there's a drought, and times when... More
