- Philippe A3 contributionsThe Moulin Rouge Musical is PerfectWent to see Moulin Rouge with my wife and we loved every second of it. The set, the dresses, the performance, the sound, everything was perfect. The only 2 things I would change would be the small and kind of uncomfortable seats and the overpriced drinks. It was funny seeing what looked like every single NYC pedicab in the street in front of the theater right after the show ended, with loud music and flashing lights fishing for customers.Visited September 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten September 26, 2023
- rochelle bNew York City, New York4 contributionsWonderful service at the box office. We saw a fabulous play, Moulon Rouge. The person at the box office was extremely helpful. I had purchased my tickets in advance and the seeds were up in the mezzanine. I am disabled and could not possibly climb up to those seats. He allowed me to get a refund on the seats I had and I had fabulous seats instead. He is saved what could have been a horrible day and made it into a wonderful day.Visited August 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten September 28, 2023
- Jill TWinchester, Virginia43 contributionsAdult EntertainmentMy girlfriend's and I attended the show in early December. The theater is very pretty but not as big as some of the other venues. The set, sound, show is incredible. We had first row balcony seats. The last couple of seats on the end have blocked views due to the sound and lighting equipment. The costumes and content of this musical is for adults. Obviously, we knew the storyline, etc. but did have a 16 year old with us that made me a bit uncomfortable. The quality of the performance was incredible and I definitely recommend. Oh, be sure to use the restroom preshow, the line at intermission is extremely long and barely enough time so plan ahead for that.Visited December 2023Travelled with friendsWritten January 13, 2024
- Chris A.Providence, Rhode Island473 contributionsGreat place to see Moulin Rouge.Excellent theater, the size is great and I don’t believe theres any bad seats. It still feels historic but has been kept in excellent condition. The VIP room, while pricy, was very nicely decorated and offered private restroom. The bathroom line during intermission was insane, but I think everyone was back in their seats in time for the second act.Visited February 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten February 23, 2024
- LarsieB1,919 contributionsBeautiful Theatre!!We saw Moulin Rouge at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre in NYC and I'd say this is one of my favorite theaters in NYC it is so beautiful and a great space to see a performance like Moulin Rouge. Our seating in the orchestra area was excellent (apart from very tall people sitting in front of us). I was going to buy a glass of bubbly before the show but could not bring myself to pay $29/glass. I like to indulge when traveling to NYC but I thought this price was simply ridiculous, at another theater the next night it was $20/glass which is still extravagant but not as bad as $29!! Anyway this is wonderful theatre and worth seeing a show here for sure!!Visited March 2024Travelled with familyWritten April 13, 2024

Show was good, sets were amazing but there’s a definite lack of restrooms. The show restarted whilst women were still in line and staff wouldn’t let them back into the auditorium until there was a break in the show. Apparently, this happens every night.
Women have paid for the show and anticipate appropriate facilities. If you can’t provide these, extend the interval. 15 minutes is very short.
I consider this treatment to be sexist since it only effect women.

The theater was gorgeous the set design was spot on, I felt like I was in Paris!
The theater was enveloped in red velvet with chandeliers and
a perfect replica of the Moulin rouge in Paris.
The show was awesome a fun entertaining cast passionate about what they do.
Would recommend!

Went to go see Moulin Rouge. The price tag is pretty hefty unless you book in advance (more than I've ever paid in my 20 years of theatre!). The set design is stunning and production values in general were insane. Easily one of the better musicals I've seen. I sat on the balcony (4th row, left-centralish), and the seats were extremely comfortable, though legroom was very limited. I am 5'3 and I could not comfortable cross my legs, but did fit sitting normally. Others around me had their knees up the next seat. View was surprisingly good and close. As others have said, it's not a very large theatre and the rake is good. Didn't even have to lean forward for more than a few bits in the front walkway, which wasn't much. Some of the staff was a bit rude, I brash, I thought, but luckily the angry man wasn't there for the interval. They tell you to not take photos before the start (probably because there's action), but it's fine in the interval. Annoyingly, the theatre sells iced drinks, so if you're unlucky like me and get sat between two people with drinks, the ice rattle does get annoying real quick.

Beautiful and fabulous!! The way they set the stage for Moulin Rogue was breath taking. I was enveloped and amazed by the beauty of the scenery and special effects. The seats were tight but comfortable. A elegant and regal theatre,

We came for a matinee of Moulin Rouge. I loved the show! The theatre itself is not bad - there are definitely tighter theatres on Broadway. The restrooms are in the basement, which is typical. If you hustle at intermission and don’t wait around, getting down and back is fine (which is true even for my hometown touring venues - don’t wait, just go). The set of this show is spectacular and the theatre itself is gorgeous.

Al Hirschfelt theatre on 45th street in New York is excellent. Went to see the Moulin Rough on a Thursday night. Got the tickets which are within the stage area. They close the bridge behind you and the dancers literally dance completely around you. It was excellent ! Recommended.

We were there to watch “Moulin Rouge”. Despite the fact that it was not a very large theatre, we were comfortably watched the Show. It was also easy to leave the theatre. When we exit, we were already on the Side walk in front of the theatre.

Saw Moulin Rouge! here and the set design was unbelievable. Just be careful when ordering your tickets, the website made it seem as if our tickets were together, to one set was in the orchestra and the other in the balcony ( very disappointed). The other thing is that if you set along the sides of the theatre, a lot of the seats have blocked views, so spend the extra to get tickets more to the middle regardless which area you're sitting. I've been here before and will continue to go here, just pick your seats to get the best view, since this show has a lot of moving parts.

We sat in row G Seats 6 and 8 In the Mezzanine, on the right hand side of the auditorium. Immediately in front of the row is an isle, separated by railing. The leg room was the best we’ve experienced anywhere, so would certainly suit your needs.

Mezzanine D108-111 are good seats with total views?.

Do I have to buy Moulin Rouge through Ticketmaster? I don’t like their excessive ticket charge and lack of seat maps

I’m afraid the only way I found for tickets was via ticket master

Is it possible to have a meal before seeing Kinky Boots on the 6/12/18 actually in the theater or can you recommend a place typicalNew York Food very nearby as we are 2 disabled ladies from England staying at the Hotel Westin Grand Central Thank you

There’s no dinner in the theater, but there are many restaurants available very close all around it, depending on the type of cuisine you are interested in.

Quickest way to exit to get to stage door... where is it located?
Written January 5, 2018
We were in the stalls at the back and used the lift to go up to the ground floor foyer. Were outside in less than 3 mins! Unsure where the Stage Door is though!
Written January 5, 2018
Do you have to wait outside for the doors to open, or is there an inside foyer?
Written December 26, 2017
We just arrived at the theatre right after the doors opened. Since we already had our tickets and we have assigned seats, we ate dinner nearby and then walked right to the theatre. We were there in October.
Written December 27, 2017
Hi Mark...Great comment about the exit set up. Do you recall which side of the theatre the wall of exit doors is? Sounds ideal... Thank you!
Written June 17, 2017
Sitting in the theatre, on your right, which as was said by other reviewer, is opening back onto the Main Street you entered from through the foyer. Just a lot more doors opened to get out easier.
