Discovered Cafe Wha? while trying to find things that I could do while travelling with my teenage daughter. We enjoyed the amazing and talented house band on a Sunday evening when the basement club is open to guests under 21. The music was great. The band makes a personal connection early with the audience. The venue is smaller so you... More

We had a blast and the resident band is tremendous. They play a broad range of music flawlessly and the crowd is relaxed and fun. Buckets of beer are fairly priced as well!

Great concept - similar to howl at the moon Cover band playing singalongs to a packed room. Bit tough to get a drink and get around - but the atmosphere is fun and its well worth the $15 cover. Go with a group and have a great night!

Had a great time in cafe wah, music and service was really good and when we got the bill it said $82 dollars which we thought was very reasonable. Had my card behind the bar and they used that and I left a tip in cash. However, my bank doesn't show my transactions until I got home from New York... More

This place is seriously one of a kind. The house band are ridiculously talented, brilliant musicians and great showmen/woman. The food is pretty good too! Only thing I'd say is the cocktails are too strong, but that's hardly the end of the world. If you are visiting New York and you're a music lover this place is 100% for you.... More

We paid just 5$ cover charge to see the Sunday night house band. They played a great set of covers from all corners of the music world and we were dancing in the aisles!! Great atmosphere and speedy service in a venue with so much history.

If you are with friends, want a drink, don't mind sitting in a dark basement to listen to amateur bands; this is the place for you and you will enjoy the atmosphere. I went to a tribute to Adele and the band and singers were great. Just avoid the food if you can which is not worth the price and... More

My friends from NYC booked a table for 8 of us for my leaving doo. Great atmosphere, good food, good drinks................loved the sing-a-long karaoke. Fun Fun Fun with friends. I would highly recommend booking a table, as if you don't, standing will not be much fun!

We visited on a recommendation from a friend who had recently visited on her trip to NYC and were not disappointed! Pre booked it via the website for 6 people and would recommend pre booking! It is located in the SoHo district. On arrival we were shown to a table and given the menu. Food options were limited so either... More

Staying in Greenwich Village

Neighbourhood Profile
Greenwich Village
Commonly known as “the Village” to New Yorkers, it was here in Greenwich Village that both 1960’s counter culture and the LGBT movement were born. Famous for its bohemian past, head to Washington Square Park to get a feel for this diverse and energetic neighbourhood. You’ll find NYU students, street performers, skateboarders, kids frolicking in the fountain, and locals relaxing and playing chess. Stroll the streets to discover a mix of majestic town homes and hidden bars and restaurants that give this neighbourhood an old-school residential feel. When the sun goes down, check out one of the famous jazz or comedy clubs that still packs them in every night.
