Atmospheric jazz club.... Great place. Music good. Drinks not too much of a rip off. The whole area is great, so plenty of places to eat....

We went to see and hear the incredible new sensation, Cecile McLorin Salvant and pianist Sullivan Fortner. It was a fabulous show with the playlist decided on during the actual performance much like a house party. It was a comfortable and intimate atmosphere in this...More

I was so excited to see a show at the Vanguard and I was not disappointed. It feels like you're entering a cave, as you walk down narrow steps, and as soon as you reach the bottom you can feel the history. You are seated...More

As soon as you head down the stairs to this basement club you can smell the history - totally classic establishment with pictures of past 'greats' covering the walls. Sessions tend to be at 8.30 or 10.30 and would advise booking in advance - it...More

Great jazz in a truly classic establishment. Everything is just as it's been since it opened and was the first club to champion Thelonius Monk.

This place was the place to go fir many years and although it is not the spot it remains a good place to hear jazz in town. Shows are scheduled periodically. And make sure you find out when. They still have good acts and the...More

West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the
West Village is one of the city’s most coveted
addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and
cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture,
this neighbourhood has a unique old-world feel. You
won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan.
Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to
get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you

It's quite a small venue (and busy) so I would go for casual and comfortable gear - no need fro your 'Sunday Best'!!

Definitely book in advance, easy to do online. Also arrive early to get a good seat- space is limited.
