Alton Brown

Alton Brown's performance is one of my favorite broadway experiences, no one genre can capture it. Barrymore Theater is a wonderful venue for his performance.

We got "good" tickets on the front but on the left side. H 17 & 19 and G 17 & 19. The actors faced the right side and since the show was a lot about talking we couldn't hear well enough what the actor said. Too bad!

Great show and definitely an amazing theatre. The theatre was very old-fashioned but was equipped with a great sound system, interactive stage, and friendly staff.

Sunday matinee of Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime was great, kinetic production, fast story-telling wonderfully acted. Ornate theatre, seating close to stage (4th row) but a bit crowded. Worth reading the history of this theatre on-line.

Saw The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time here and both the play and theater were terrific. The theater itself felt intimate and I had great seats (bought same day tickets at the TKTS booth). The seats were roomy and comfortable.

Watched this outstanding adaptation of the novel at the Barrymore Theatre. The play is highly recommended. I could never have expected this kind of kinetic, dynamic, creative adaptation. The stage itself is like one of the cast - an essential part of the experience. Sat in the third row from the front, perfect view (even though some teenagers were kicking... More

Wow, what a performance. The stage is awesome the actors were great. I have a new understanding of Autism. The Theatre is beautiful, do be careful of the slope down to the seats, it's more than you think.

We saw the Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime at this theatre recently. The theatre is a older smaller more intimate venue that we very much enjoyed. The play that we saw was great! It wasn't a play to take the family with small children because of its somber overtones. It offered an insightful insight into the mind... More

The Ethel Barrymore is a wonderful old style theatre. The Curious Incident of The Dog in The Night- time was the play we saw and it is amazing. Great play. We were on the tiered level and had a wonderful view of the whole stage. Tyler Lea is remarkable in the lead role.

The Ethel Barrymore is an older theater. It is one of the smaller Broadway theaters which makes it perfect for seeing a show such as The Curious Incident of The Dog in The Night- time. We sat in the last row of the orchestra and could see and hear perfectly. Be aware If you have a problem with flashing lights... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
