Searched for places to see while lunching at union Sqaure cafe.great little store with vintage China and unique items.I had to ask an employee what's with the name, apparently it's a town upstate NY where the owner purchased their first items for sale.A gem!

The shop has a huge collection of home goods and it has a great vibe with the set up of the items and how these are displayed. The only downside is that most of the items are rather expensive and if you are visiting NYC as a tourist you may just have to compromise with smaller, cheaper items.

I love the smart alec-ness of this place. And there is always a glass I pick up with some cute design or funny saying. They have a great selection! Worth a stop for sure!

Affordable ceramic tableware etc., great for souvenirs. Great staff. I paid for purchases and they were happy to hold it until I returned after a day or site seeing. Great service.

It was through the NY forum I discovered this store. It was fantastic. I was able to find all my souvenirs to take home to NZ here.

If you like browsing for unusual and quirky kitchen utensils and dishes, you will love Fishs Eddy. My friend and I always like to see their theme related dishes, towels, and knick knacks. There are politically inspired dishes with smart and funny quotes as well as lots of interesting glasses and accessories for other themes such as dogs, cats, and... More

Fishs Eddy never loses its appeal. Great place to meet up with people and browse while you wait. Buy teas towels or a mug wiht a NY or BKLN theme and great design and quality for souvenirs. Your freinds and family will actually use them! They ship too, if you get attached to many place settings of the awesome vintage... More

Really cool stuff with a sense of both humor and style. Prices are reasonable. Great place to pick up a unique gift for yourself or someone else!

Staying in Flatiron District

Neighbourhood Profile
Flatiron District
Offering many of city’s best restaurants and shops set amid classic New York architecture, the Flatiron District is no longer under the tourist radar. At 23rd Street is the famous triangular Flatiron Building, which makes a good picture no matter what angle you photograph it from. Be sure to look up at the elegant architecture as you stroll the streets- much of this neighborhood is part of a historic district that was home to many of the city’s most famous department stores at the turn of the century. At the northern end of the neighbourhood, Madison Square Park is best known for being the home of a famous burger shack, but it can also be a quiet refuge to spend an afternoon, and it frequently hosts interesting public art exhibits. In the lower part of the Flatiron District you'll find Union Square, a bustling crossroads at all times of day and night.
