What a great place on Laffayette! Downstairs: a great wine and liquor store with reasonable pricing, free deliveries in the city, free tastings galore and friendly and helpful people. Upstairs, the Center: cooking classes, wine classes, tastings of many varieties (this week it was a Taste of France), both educational and enjoyable. If only they could get the web site... More

Astor Wine and Spirits has become our go to wine purveyor. It's great fun to visit the shop and explore the many different wines on offer, often at very attractive prices. The regular wine tastings are very good; today we learned about three different wines from Croatia, which enhanced our trip there two years ago, and brought back some delicious... More

First time back in 10 years! Excellent selection and reasonably priced. When I could not find what I was looking for they sent me to a different store. Could not believe it. That store it turned out refers to Astor - it works! Extremely knowledgeable people and very helpful. GO!!

Astor Wine & Spirits always have what I am looking for and the staff is very knowledgeable and good about making suggestions based on personal preferences. The store offers special events and free wine tastings (see their detailed website). It is great walking in this nice and large store looking at bottles from all over the world however, they also... There are excellent wine stores in New York City with tremendous expertise in various areas -- Chambers Street and Burgundy Wine Company, for example. We buy a mixed case from Astor Wines every month or so -- they deliver to the Upper East Side for free and their prices are very competitive. We usually have knowledge of the wines we... More

I shop for spirits on weekly sales on line and on occasion in person here. They d liver without charge for those in Manhattan and sometimes for larger orders outside boroughs. They offer wonderful tastings of spirits and their highly specialized classes of different types of cuisine and spirits are greatly enjoyed by all. Annual events such as herring specials(first... I love Astor Wines and Spirits. We went often when I lived in the area and when I visit I often find myself stopping by, even though it means checking my luggage on the way home. The staff are so knowledgeable, helpful, and enthusiastic, their prices are reasonable, and they have things nobody else carries. I'm a big Amaro fan,... More

This is an absolute wonderland for those like me who enjoy partaking of 4 carbon fragments (alcohol)! The selection is vast of wines and spirits from all over the globe. The store is spacious, maintained beautifully and staffed well. If you can't find it, ask the staff. Some wines/spirits are an excellent value while others not so much. Despite that,... More

An absolute surprise to find a wine and liquor store of this size in NYC. The selection they have at Astor is deep and fantastic. They have good sales from time to time and reliable staff, glad I stopped by to visit.

Astor is well worth the trip from anywhere in the city. They have the most incredible selection of wines and spirits that I have seen outside of the New Hampshire liquor warehouses. The staff was so friendly, and so helpful, and very knowledgeable of the inventory. Prices were fantastic too. If you are a serious collector or connoisseur, this is... More
