We came with the stroller, but I’d recommend against it. The second floor was a wonderland of cooking gadgets. Sample cheeses and deli items on the main floor.

We have visited the store every visit to NY. Why? Because it is the only place where you can buy Kalles Dill Kaviar and some other North European delicacy products. IKEA is to far away and IKEA do not have the KK dill version. There...More

Zabars was perhaps once unique, but now offers less variety and lower quality foodstuffs than the average supermarket, and at far far higher prices. The cooked and prepared foods, including meats and fish dishes, are particularly mediocre. The only items that I find worth tasting...More

We went to Zabars for breakfast twice while in NYC. Great spot for a quick bite or takeout at a reasonable price. Lots of locals who know the staff by name so they must be doing something right. Wish we had the opportunity to have...More

I have had their bagel and lox in the past. so this time I tried the blintzes. Bad mistake. They are much too sweet and the pancake is much too thick. Stick with the bagels.

So many people go to specialty bakeries for great pastry, but you can find it right here in this great neighborhood grocery store. You can get a lot of other things too, but writing from the standpoint of being a tourist, their pastry selection was...More

I was so disappointed. Yes, they had bagels and lox on the menu, but they were cold, tough, untoasted bagels in the fridge case wrapped in plastic with an olive (??) in the middle. It was inedible-- I took 2 bites and threw it out.

We stayed at a hotel 2 blocks away and we wanted a 'grab & go' breakfast to start our day of sight-seeing. This was the perfect spot for us. Zabar's was packed with locals and tourists. They have a wide selection of bagels, pastries, egg...More

I love eating here, shopping here, and being here. Also, the coffee is to die for. Zabar's is an institution and if you're Jewish and in the Upper West Side, go.
