Some locals really like this place, but I sense that it is living on it's former glory.

Wow, I have a new favorite. If you like choices in mixed salads, this is perfect. What a change from carrot strips and cherry tomatoes. Lots to choose from and all excellent, especially if you're "slimming"!

I have been coming to Zabar's since 1972. It was the best then. Its the best now - just a whole lot bigger. Don't forget to check out the second floor.

When I'm on the UWS, I always stop by Zabars for some double smoked salmon. No one slices salmon like the professionals at Zabars.

Zabars is quintessential NY. Huge variety of all types of foods from around the world and local. And the bonus is the household goods market on the 2nd floor. Very reasonable prices for all types of kitchenware and more.
