We wandered around Battery Park to wait on the Statue/Ellis Island Cruise. Very pretty area with food trucks; Staten Island Ferry departs from here too. Take a walk up Broadway to Canal Street and Chinatown/Little Italy for ‘junky shopping’.

Lower Manhattan has changed over time. Battery park and downtown used to be more of a wasteland. But now it has changed with many more shopping and dining options.

It really depends on what you like. like the places a little off the beaten path. Try the Dead Rabbit Grog & Grocery, don't let the name fool you, its a solid and fun place

Lower Manhattan, there are many trains that goes to the lower Manhattan. If you take A,E,N 4, 5, 6 trains stop at the Brooklyn bridge, from there you can walk to the World center to see the new Towers and to mention the... More
