In a Covid world there wasn’t many people. Which made the experience that much better. Truly, is a remarkable place. The weather was perfect and you really can see for 40 miles in all directions. The staff was friendly and the observation deck was clean.

First the good: as observatories go, it was pretty well done. 360 degree views were good, sight lines were clear and the elevator effects were very nice. It’s better than the original observatory at WTC but I still think that Top of the Rock is laid out better. Their observatory claims to take up 3 floors, but the top floor is basically a staging area for the next floor down which has the iPad rental thing available- the 360 degree observatory is on a single floor. Issues: Handicapped friendly? How? Parking is nowhere near adjacent to the site and I use a cane. Drop off is blocked. I was consistently directed to escalators and there was damn few places to sit prior to entering the observatory itself. Yes, I understand the impact of COVID but damn, put out a chair or two. Experience and the views are amazing. Not too crowded at this time. But... A lot of people do not respect the measures against covid especially the masks. Groups of people taking photos, selfies even influencers without masks. Some even walking around without the mask. Staff does not enforce it at all (at the actual Observatory). People walk right by the guys dealing with ipads without masks. Since the whole experience is indoor it did not leave the best impression.…

The views are amazing, but We bought the all inclusive experience which is almos 50% more expensive than the standard experience, we ended up in the same lines as other standard tickets, the One World Explorer is an iPad to identify buildings that’s available to everyone, and for the $15 credit they won’t tell you restaurants are closed due to Covid, and the souvenirs store is outrageously expensive, so your $15 are worth nothing. Avoid this type of ticket, buy the standard one.…
