We've been living in the New York area for almost 6 years now and this was our first trip to the Observatory. It was worth the wait, though we do wish we'd come sooner! We took some friends to visit since it was their first time in the city and it's the perfect way to get to experience it, especially on a freezing February day. If no one in your group is familiar with the New York area (or you like playing guessing games) it might be nice to pick up the guided iPads, but if you have someone with you who knows the city and can point out the landmarks I don't believe it's necessary (but I am "that friend", so...). I you have time to spare, the café looks really cute but pretty crowded, so probably not ideal for social distancing even though the staff is pretty good at enforcing it in general. Could be better, but I've seen worse. Highly recommend for those million-dollar views of New York!

Do not pay for the all-inclusive or skip the lines package. Not worth it. Capacity is limited because of covid anyways. There was no line to skip. We walked in just like everyone else. Waste of money.

This was a great experience even for a native new yorker who grew up in the Bronx. I had instant nostalgia while gazing over lower manhattan, uptown and the outer boroughs. I was fortunate to visit the Twin Towers Observatory Deck and Exterior Rooftop Deck and this experience brought me back to my childhood. As far as cost, just by the general admission passes while visiting during COVID19. I was compelled to buy the premium passes to avoid crowds during entry, but their was none. Hindsight, the check-in is similar to the TSA checkpoint at an airport, everyone is entering the same checkpoint and elevators...so don't burden yourself with the higher expense for premium tickets. The tour only takes 20 mins and their is also a presentation on the south end that talks about the design of the Tower and adjacent properties. I will certainly return in the summer to see my city on a clear sunny day!! (Buying GA Admission too!!)

Such an amazing experience! I’ve been there a few times and it’s always incredible. Most recently took my girlfriend (who enjoys nature far more than the city) and she was absolutely enamored with the observatory. The preshow parts are so well done, and the view is unmatched. Will definitely be going again in the future.
