A superb small museum with costumed docents leading you through historic period buildings. The buildings have been thoughtfully restored and the docents are interesting and informative. The are also interesting contemporary art and historic displays in the modern museum building.

This is a fantastic and free museum. It is located near the state capitol building, with plenty of parking. I would suggest putting this on your must-see list. Both the grounds and building are well-preserved.

The Museum Center has fine displays on Arkansas Made, County by County; History of the Bowie Knife and The Caddo, Osage & Quapaw in Arkansas. The latter is one of the best Indian exhibits that I have seen. Adjacent on the Historic Grounds are many...More
