It's been several years since I visited the Heifer Village in Little Rock. Many improvements have been made. There is an educational section which explains the function of the Heifer organization, and some animals have been added! The Gift Shop is full of beautiful items from countries around the world that are supported by Heifer.

We were not sure what Heifer International was completly about except for what we had read. We were met by a very friendly lady Lindsey who explained what Heifer did around the world. This place really opens your eyes of the the struggles of people around the world. Nice place to visit.

It may have not been as interesting to me as to some as I already knew all about them, but with that said it is still an interesting stop.Everyone I met in Little Rock told me how proud they were of Heifer International. They have reason to be. Check their rating online! The tour area in the building is quite small... More

The Heifer International headquarters (just behind the Clinton Museum) is fun to visit. I had always thought of the group as distributing young calves to the poor around the world, but it is so much more than that. Heifer is involved in teaching proper cultivation techniques, controlling water resources, digging water wells and various education projects. There are also examples... More

heifer international does good all over the world. They educate women in poor countries on how to provide for their families and help build healthy communities. A heifer goes to a woman in a village - she I taught how to milk it, care for it - including diagnosing health problems. The learn about sanitation and marketing as well. In... More

I toured Heifer Village and was blown away by the thought and care that went into its design. Learning about the good choices that can be made when building was totally interesting. Heifer is doing such great work around the world, you can't help but leave feeling hopeful and better about humankind. It is important to learn about perspectives other... More

We actually went for lunch and found the amazing educational area for kids. If I had young kids or grandkids it would be a definite place to take them to learn about food and how it relates to our world. The small restaurant uses local ingredients and varies with the seasons. The food is excellent and the staff is very... More

Great visitor center for children and anyone interested in the work Heifer International does. The activities are educational and geared for children but I enjoyed seeing and playing with some of them. I did not take the guided tour that highlights the green building design used for the offices and center. Plan to go back and do that some day.

If you are visiting downtown Little Rock make sure and stop by Heifer Village (located just beside the Clinton Presidential Library.) Very interesting architecture- all energy efficient, even recycling grey water! They have fantastic field trips for schools and scout groups, but also just a fun stop for people wanting to learn more about poverty, and Heifer project in general.... More

The interpretive center is very hands on for all ages. The gift shop has many international items. There are tours of the LEED Gold building that is very educational. Worth the trip.
