We started out at one section of the path which has a well built/sturdy chinning/dipping station. The path around the lake area is essentially a cement sidewalk with four or five outhouses and a couple of water stations. Well maintained quite area for running, cycling or walking.

Love Veteran's Lake. Picnic areas are always clean and groomed. The side walk trail around the lake is 3 miles and well maintained.

We went to Chickasaw on a very busy holiday weekend. While the springs were super busy, the Veteran's Lake was not. It was nice to get a break from the crowds and just float in the water. If you are looking for a quieter part of the park, do not miss this hidden gem. Super clean, and relaxing.

We live just a few miles from the lake and can just drive out to set and relax or fish. We can take a picnic and spend the day relaxing.

We visit this lake every year while we are camping at the Chickasaw National Park. The concrete trail that goes all the way around the lake is the most peaceful and beautiful walk anywhere.

The lake is not overly large but the area that surrounds it makes it so much better. It's very tranquil with the wildlife sounds and the breeze. A great stop to just relax and forget for awhile.

We love to walk or bicycle the paved trail that runs completely around the lake (see the picture above). Our family has great picnics there. We enjoy kayaking there, especially when we paddle up the stream that feeds the lake. Good fishing and swimming, too.

Loved this lake. 3.5 mile walking trail around the lake. It has beautiful scenery and fishing. There were fishermen using 2-man boats with electric
