This is a very nice little museum that was near our motel. We had to stop in to check it out. Not disappointed. More geared for kids but there is lots of information for adults as well as lab where visitors can watch work on fossils by paleontologists. Very friendly hand helpful staff. Several animated dinosaurs for the kids, many... More

I don't have kids - so all I can say is there are a lot of kids here that seem to be having a good time. And - there are so many kid oriented exhibits. The older kids probably enjoy the skeletons and the exhibits showing the different heart sizes of different dinos. Younger kids will enjoy digging up fossils... More

I have always wanted to see fossils and dinosaurs remains and it was a friend who lives in Fruita suggested that we should check out this museum. My hubby and I were over whelmed with the huge collection of great fossils and dinosaur bones and the reconstruction packed into a relatively small museum, including a beautiful Allosaurus skeleton. They've a... More

Right off of I 70 - this is a wonderful place for children to explore and do the touchy / feely hands on type of exhibit - very well presented - kids love it - does close early at 4:00 - worth a trip if passing through !

My son and I (age 9) went on the museum's 3-day expedition, and yes this was as good as it gets! First the museum. Dinosaur Journey is fantastic, and my comparison is the Smithsonian's Museum of Natural History (visited 2/17) which I found underwhelming after being to the Dinosaur Journey Museum. The Dinosaur Journey Museum had many more exhibits and... More

This is a rather new musuem with robotic dinosaurs who move, spit, and make noises. Very good musum for children of all ages. Lots of room around each display. The kids loved it.

My kids loved the animated dinosaurs. We loved being able to touch the fossils. It was small and we were done in an hour.

I bought a membership when I moved here and it's paid for itself over and over. This is a great place to go in the winter and summer. It keeps my kids interested for at least an hour at a time. Often the kids want to go to the playplace at the McD next door after the dino museum. Good,... More

We loved visiting the museum, but it is quite small compared to most others. My son and I learned a lot about dinosaurs, and I was really impressed with the volunteers that we got to watch chiseling out the bones. I would definitely recommend visiting if you have a child that loves dinosaurs!
