Got to go with the local through this area my husband was born and raised there the battlefield is also off the beaten path it's nice it's a good walk you can drive if you want the museum was awesome

The Battle of Cowpens was the basis for the movie “The Patriot”. Seeing this important part of securing victory in the War for Independence was very enjoyable. Having been here before I was disappointed that the battlefield was overgrown. The musket demonstration was excellent.

Most travelers have probably never heard of the this battle site, but it was the site of an important Revolutionary War victory for the Continental forces. Any one interested in history should appreciate the story that unfolds here.
