This was an excellent historic spot that included hands-on things for the kids AND nice-size walking loop, historic information well presented, and a beautiful spot to watch the boats on the river. Would recommend this spot above Robinson Preserve for families.

Take the time to seek out this attraction. It's a beautiful spot to visit. The history is very well explained around the grounds and in the visitor center. The walking trails are stunning.

Alas, the famous and much beloved giant gumbo limbo tree is gone, but this wonderful park lives on. Our dogs know every inch of the trains and boardwalk, but we go back time and time again. It is never boring.
