If you are in Mammoth Lakes and want to see a movie in a theater than this your only choice. Not bad theatre but don't expect a huge screen.

We had the pleasure of watching Jurassic World on opening night at this little theater. EVERYONE in town was there, it seemed. Even our guest clerk from the hotel! Loved the intimate venue, just don't expect anything but movie, popcorn, soda and fun.

This is the only theater in town. Mammoth has added upscale hotels, shopping, and restaurants, but this theater remains. I don't understand why. It is small, sad, and hardly ever open. Just checked the schedule and they have one showing of each movie a day. Forget matinees, these are rare. Sometimes people take a day off from skiing, Mammoth is... More

Wow...the experience at this place rocked it for us...we were in another WORLD when we walked in. I had stopped in at the Starbucks that's connected to Vons to grab a coffee. The Barista asked what we were up to...'oh, a movie...' Well, don't get coffee then--because you can't take ANYTHING into that theater...So we picked up some vias...had them... More

Although the theater is relatively small, its still nice to be able to see current releases when in the Eastern Sierras. Its in Mammoth Lakes and is a reasonable theater to go to if staying in the June Lake Loop or Mammoth Lakes area. We have enjoyed going to the movie there...We usually go at night or on a stormy... Nice enough to take in a movie in the Sierras if you so choose,, but somewhat old fashioned and primitive in comparison with the newer, especially the upscale cinemas in the big city.

Okay Minaret Cinemas are not your neon lights theatre. Sometimes it can be a bit cold so wear your icebreaker underwear. However, on the great side the prices are reasonable and they have new movies everyweek. Easy parking, access and simple. For such a small town we are fortunate to have this old time theatre.
