We wound our way from Anacortes through deception pass under construction to this lesser known NP. The view from the cemetery was obscured by smoke so we drove down to the beach and walked. We then went to The Whidbey Inn to get park stamped which was very nice.

The driftwood, hikes, forest, beach, mist and sunshine made this a magical location for the four of us (two 50-somethings, a 21-yr old and a 19-yr old). We had the place to ourselves on a Monday morning. It would be good for all ages who love the outdoors!

We enjoyed our hike yesterday, sunshine after the fog lifted. We parked at the cemetery and walked to the bluff hike and on to the Ferry House. It must have a lot of history there; a new garage has been built there behind the house. Great views from there. Also the Pratt Loop was fascinating as you walk through the woods. Discover Pass needed if you park down at the beach.

The best sunset spot on the island! Plenty of roadside parking and a very small parking lot. Recommend getting there about 30-45 min ahead of sunset time. Plenty of room to picnic if you want, and lots of great beachcombing.

This is one of the most beautiful spots in WA state. This area is where the glacier ended and left rich soil which became prime farming area. You can take a bluff trail up the cliff and see both this farmland as well as wide expanses of sea, sky and the Olympic Mountains. This is a truly glorious experience that is unforgettable and totally worth seeing. If you're not so inclined for an incline you can instead just meander on the beach without exerting yourself...but it is well worth the climb for those vistas..plus if you are observant you just may see some cacturs!

Beautiful views and interesting history. Definitely worth a stop on Whidbey Island. Drove by in the morning and it was still too foggy; came back after lunch and it was crystal clear out. A gorgeous hike.

Beautiful spot for hiking, watching the sunsets, seeing the lighthouse! Historic spot, the nation's first ever historic "reserve", definitely want to come here if you are on Whidbey Island and take it in. Stop at Fort Casey while there and see the disappearing guns. Lovely day!

We spent a wonderful three hours at Ebey's Landing National Historical Reserve. We visited the Ebey farmhouse and listened to an enthusiastic volunteer share the history of the family and the land. Then we hiked the 3.5 mile trail on the bluff and the beach. It was a beautiful day and we could see Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains in the distance. We would highly recommend this trail.

We live on Whidbey Island, and the bluff and beach trail at Ebey's Landing is one of our favorites. Glorious 180 degree views across the water and of mountains. I think the round trip trail is about 3 miles, but there are signs that show the trails and distances. There are some narrow areas of the trail up on the bluff, so caution should be used. Parking area is a WA state park, and requires either a day or annual pass (recommend the $30 annual Discover pass vs. the $10 daily fee--pass it good at any WA state parks). You can park along Hill Road, too, for free and just walk a little farther.

We hiked the bluff trail and saw absolutely awesome views of the Strait and Olympic mountain range. Then we hiked most of the interior "kettles" trails which were even more fascinating than the bluff trails. There is something for everyone, including mountain biking and horse trails. You can hike all day and weave though different trails and distinctly different environments which seem like a cross between a maze and the enchanted forest from the Wizard of Oz. It is especially nice for kids because the trail names constantly change and kids will have fun navigating with the trail map (which is a must unless you enjoy being lost).
