    Great food, great atmosphere
So many great food options to try different things. Gotta be over 40 vendors here. Obviously hit some of the hits like Philly cheesesteak or donuts, but stay for the Amish food. It's so good, but be mindful they aren't there on Sundays. Also be mindful that seats are hard to come by and weekends and sporting events mean that it will be crowded.

    A must go to place
This is a must see as you were in Philadelphia and I was there because I went to the Philadelphia garden show which was celebrating his 300th anniversary. The Reading Market is one of those old fashion markets that you used to see in the old days where you can buy everything and anything all in one place! It is meticulously clean, and there’s plenty of seating and the food and everything is phenomenal. It closes at six, but is worth every minute you have, when you’re hungry are looking for a place to sit.

    Just can't go wrong.
Whether its a cheesesteak at Spatoro's, or a roast pork sandwich from Dinics, the food is just wonderful. You can't go wrong with anything. the variety is wonderful and prices are what you would expect. Seating not the easiest, if there during a peak time its best to eat and then give up your table to other hungry diners. Don't hopga table.

    Neat place
The Reading Terminal Market is a must see if for no other reason than it’s history! Also, you can get almost ANY type of food there. Be prepared for crowds. Have someone wear a bright color so you can find each other.

    Awesome market experience
We lost it and they found it and more! I came in the Arch Street door and was met by Pizza by George and my goodness it was delicious! We walked through buying and tasting everything we could. Some of the nicest people and great things to buy. Fresh meats, teas, and baked goods oh my! I am so surprised we never heard of this place before. Double Tree by Hilton staff told us about this place and we were pleasantly surprised and will be back! Beiler’s Bakery was sooo oh my goodness good and fresh! Famous 4th St cookie was nice. Martins Specialty Sausages was clean with helpful staff, but it wasn’t until we got home and tasted the sausage that we realized what a gem we had found! Our family loved the chicken sausages and the flavor Ms didn’t disappoint at all. We WILL be back!

    Options to eat for everyone
This market sells both prepared and un-prepared food along with a few stalls with non-edible items. A very busy place at lunch hour, so my recommendation is to go before or after. The number of tables inside is minimal; nearby at the Convention Center or at City Hall are spacious outdoor tables to savor your tasty selections. The best roast pork sandwich ever is at Dinic’s, especially with the broccoli rabe topping. Cheesesteaks, donuts, bagels, ice cream, vegan friendly places, and more. Or buy something at the market to take home and cook yourself.

If you like trying different foods and have two to three hours to burn, I would go!
My wife is a foodie and wanted to stop in. We had a great time trying different food, drinks, and desserts with our kids. It was packed and seating was limited. It reminded me of what Lexington Market in Baltimore was like in the 80s, which was pretty cool back then. If you want to try different foods and are happy walking around and waiting in line, then I would suggest it. Next time we go to Philadelphia, we will definitely return (but stay in a hotel closer). I would not put this down as a "must do" but if you have a few hours, I would encourage you to check it out.

    Totally awesome foodie experience
I am so glad a previous Philly visitor told me about this market. It is so fabulous, it boggles my mind. I went there twice with a friend and it was always busy. But totally worth the wait. I couldn't believe the variety of fresh produce and meat and all the ethnic restaurants. Staggers my imagination for sure. The first day, my friend & I ate food from the country of Georgia and then brought back Korean pancakes. The next day, my friend had a Philly cheesesteak and I had Greek. I also bought a bialy and my friend bought gingerbread and I bought candy. I don't think you could ever be bored going here. We were fortunate to be within walking distance from our hotel. I wish this were in my backyard.

A neat place to find a variety of food
Just visiting the market can be a little overwhelming at first. I was glad for all of the variety. We tried different things, like a pork sandwich from DiNics, salmon curry from Little Thai Market, milkshake from Bassett's and a random smoothie from somewhere. The next morning we tried Beiler's for doughnuts and coffee. In my opinion, some food was overhyped (DiNic's), so it may be best to wander around and see what interests you without reading a ton of reviews first (which I am guilty of). There are too many options to try in one day, so I think it's a great place to visit to find something to satisfy everyone in the group.

    Want food? They got it!
Word of advice: If you go and there is an event at the Philadelphia Convention Center next door, DON'T. You will not like the experience. The first time I entered this place was a midday lunch on a Sunday which also happened to be the first day of an event. It was wall to wall people and it was a challenge to get anywhere, let alone order anything. Put it this way, I'm not sure if it was a fire hazard but it sure seemed like it. We went the following morning as well as the late afternoon a couple of days later and the atmosphere was a bit more manageable. It was a heck of a lot more pleasant then. The food choices and cuisine were amazing. Want some noodles? Its there. Want some Louisiana gator? Chomp away. Feel like a kebabs and gyros? All that greasy goodness is around. Heck if you want a sugar rush you can get cookies and ice cream from some really good spots. If youre lucky enough to grab a table and chair to eat then great, if not, your best bet is to just take it back to the convention center or your hotel room if you're lucky enough to get one nearby. It wont get any awards for a gourmet experience but there is something to offer for everyone.

Such a wonderful experience and delight to the senses! Visually interesting, lovely smells and wonderful flavours. You could spend all day walking round deciding where to eat first! Our favourite was a pastrami sandwich at Hershel’s. Loved it!

Amazing to experience what they have to offer. Don’t forget to use one of the two garages that any merchant can validate discounted parking for as long as you purchase something.

Wow, what an amazing please. visited Philadelphia on a day trip from NYC and this market came up as a must visit. The food choice is vast so there would be something for everyone even the fussiest of people like me. We opted for a Philly cheesesteak so shout out to Spataro. It was amazing, the best thing ever. The only problem is there are so many people and not enough seating so we had to stand up and eat. Definitely worth a visit

This market is a must if you are in town. They have everything you could need. There are so many restaurants that you can absolutely find something for everyone's taste. There is a seating area in the middle of the market and some vendors have seating at their stand. There are at least two or three places to eat where you can go in and sit down at a table. I really love all the other stands. There are butchers, produce markets, honey, cheese, jerky, seafood, donuts and anything else you may be looking for. Bleiler's donuts are amazing. There are Amish bakeries, a diner and cheese stand. The Amish stands are not open on Sunday. The market gets crowded but worth it. Several of the stands are well known and have been featured on Food network for the food. There is a parking garage directly across from the market. If you purchase anything at the market ask the vendor to validate your parking for a discounted rate. The garage is at 12th and Filbert. You must pay at the kiosk in the garage lobby to get the discounted rate. The market is also located right next to the Convention Center.

Must visit for food in Philly. So many food options all within reasonable price and tasted great.
Be prepared it can be very busy with queues at almost every vender especially around the height of lunch time, but the queues move fast they have systems in place and the food is so worth it.
Would definitely recommend.

We stopped by during a recent visit to the Independence Hall historical area. It was a busy day between Christmas and New Years and was mobbed. There were countless food options including several places that catered to vegetarians and vegans including a vegan deli with a great Reuben. I also enjoyed a hibiscus ginger juice, but it was expensive at $7. My husband and son liked their cheesesteak. There are also great spots for dessert. My only complaint is that it was super hard to find a place to sit and eat, especially on a busy day. The market seems to prioritize cramming in a multitude of vendors over providing tables for people to sit and eat which I imagine the vast majority of visitors wish to do. It might be better to visit on an off day or at an off time to avoid this frustration. Just be prepared to rack up a sizeable credit card bill as nothing is cheap. Then again, vendors aren't charging all that much more than your typical fast-food restaurant these days. I’d go back the next time we are in Philly to try a few of the other food options.
