I scheduled my family to take the Independence Tour which was great. Full of information that was new to me and my husband. Our kids a 7th grader and 5th grader stayed focused for most of the tour. There were moments where I could see...More

Independence Hall along with the Liberty Bell are busy sites in the tourist season, be sure to arrive as early as possible to receive your free tickets but avoid long lines. I recommend reading up on the Philadelphia history prior to your first visit. Take...More

After growing up 60 odd years ago, my first visit was great. It was stirring to be reminded of all our founding fathers (and mothers) did for us.

This experience is worth the price. You will need to book the tour on-line. Expect a security check before entering. Allow travel time/ security check point time. Parking is under ground, under the mall. Take a camera, the lighting can be interesting, so know your...More

Just standing in front of the liberty bell swells one's chest with pride and admiration to those who secured our liberty. Excellent exhibitions as the line moved toward the great bell.

Tickets are free, but they go quickly; so, make sure you reserve online. Of course, no one ever asked for our tickets once we picked them up from will-call. Not security. Not the ranger who was manning the entrance. No one. The tour starts with...More

We obtained the "timed" tickets early in the day and then took a guided tour by foot before going to Independence Hall. This is a short tour, but our ranger guide did his his best to engage the audience and bring history to life, thus...More

We were traveling on a Friday in August. The weather was humid but we waited in the shade to go through security. We had a 2pm tour scheduled through Independence visitors center (pick your tickets up there 45 minutes before your scheduled tour.) We went...More

The Liberty Bell symbolizes everything that the United States represents and the visit today is as awe inspiring and as meaningful as it was for me when i was a child. The 15 minute tour is well worth the wait and the guide was well...More

My advise is to go very early to avoid the crowds. On a Friday afternoon the wait had to hours long. We went Sat morning for the opening and were in in less than 10 mins.

We enjoyed our stay at the Sofitel. It's a great location and beautiful hotel. There are several great options though.

The 30th Street Station is at least 20 blocks from the historic district and would be a long walk. You can take the SEPTA train from the Amtrak 30th street station using the Market/Frankfort line. There are several stops... More
