This museum is a real treasure and should be a must visit
Excellent museum which includes beautiful garden containing great Rodin sculptures. The very door to the museum is a great work “The Gates of Hell “ based on Dante’s vision. I highly recommend getting onto a free guided tour. Our guide was excellent! You cannot appreciate the magnificence of Rodin’s work without the insight and background provided.

    Enlightening
Wonderful exhibit. Beautiful grounds intended to replicate the Rodin Museum in France. Many sculptures to look at, along with written notations about the piece and the response by the French audience at the time. I have no idea what Rooindie, below, is talking about. There is an abundance of sculptures inside and outside. I have also been to the Rodin sculpture garden at Stanford, CA many times and there are even more here to view. Definitely make a stop. The admission price is listed, but you can also give what you want.

    Beautiful grounds, superbly curated museum
Though the collection is not large, even the casual visitor will be interested in seeing the works of Rodin.... highlights include works that are iconic: The Thinker, The Kiss, The Gates of Hell. The grounds are beautiful and there is plenty of seating if you wish to relax for a bit. The museum itself is easily managed in an hour or a bit more. Very interesting variety of different styles by the sculpture master.

    A Delightful Oasis
A beautiful tribute to this extraordinary artist, and a peaceful oasis in the middle of the city. This is really a singular center hall with several small annexes, each of which has seating, books to browse on the artist, notebooks in which to sketch or leave your thoughts. Delightful. Admission includes the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Sunday is "Pay What You Wish".

The outside of the Rodin was really solid. The gates of hell was incredible. The thinking man was very neat to see.

We didn’t go in and the reason we didn’t go in which annoyed me was they had a suggested donation amount. I understand why they do that, but pick a lane in terms of either charging people or making it free. Trying to go halfway for patrons can be frustrating because you don’t want to come across poorly.

Overall outside 8.7/10

Not very big, but very impressive. A lot of beautiful sculptures and interesting history. And you only pay a donation which is suggested but not required. We loved walking around and taking lots of pictures.

Are you a fan of Rodin? If so, you should hightail it to the Rodin Museum in Philadelphia. I was impressed before I even entered the museum. The grounds are beautiful! Not only that, admission is “Pay What You Wish.” Being the art lover that I am, I happily paid the suggested admission. I was visiting during the Rodin’s Hands exhibition. It was a small exhibit but it had a huge impact. I’ve viewed many of Rodin’s works at other museums. But this experience was more intimate. My favorite sculpture at the museum is “The Three Shades.” I saved my receipt like they suggested and took it to the Philadelphia Museum of Art the next day. Guess who got a steep discount on admission? I was so appreciative. Thank you!

This is a beautiful restful museum. The space itself is gorgeous, the pieces are well spaced apart, and the cards on each piece are informative and interesting. There are some classic pieces here -- the Thinker (outside), the Burghers of Calais (also in the garden), the gates of hell (outside), the Kiss. You can see all of those except the Kiss without even buying a ticket. In one side room, there was a sofa with a sketch book and pencils beside it -- and people had left some amazing sketches of the sculptures. We visited in the winter, but you can tell the gardens surrounding the building will be a wonderful setting in the summer.

Beautiful outdoor plaza area showing several of Rodin's sculptures. Part of the museum parkway alongside many of Philly's other museums.

We were a bit surprised how few pieces were here, and what was here we found underwhelming. The best pieces are actually outside. We thought the $12 suggested ticket price was steep for what you got; however, we got credit for all of it against our Philadelphia Museum of Art tickets, so that was a nice savings. We didn't spend much time here at all. There was a free tour going on, which seemed really to be very thorough, but because of the small size of the museum, you can't avoid it - we literally had to walk through the group to see some items.
