Celebrating 30 years of support of the Pennsylvania Ballet, we never tire of watching the performance of the Nutcracker at the Academy of Music. The seating is comfortable, and the theatre is just the right size for a performance.

I have been going here numerous times for the ballet. The Nutcracker is my favorite ballet performance and the venue is a beautifully decorated place with Victorian era architecture and furnishings. The performances are amazing and very elaborate. The dancers are very talented. The employees...More

I saw Bob Dylan here recently and have been to the Academy many times for various shows. During Dylan the ushers were constantly coming into the Balcony and shining their very bright lights on people in the audience, seemingly to get their attention, for I...More

I had the chance to attend a Philadelphia Orchestra event called "Sound All Around." These are a series of concerts created for very young kids - a fantastic way to expose young children to music in a live setting with their parents, very up close...More

What an authentic experience I had here at the Academy of Music. The theatre itself is a prime example of the opera house that no longer exists in our modern world. It is a gem to behold and even more so when there is a...More

We attended Evita here on Saturday evening. This was our first time at the Academy. (Yes I know, eventhough we live in Philly, we have never attended a show there. Folks that live in New York don't visit the top of the Empire State either.)...More

Going on 12/31 - noon show time for the Nutcracker. We always pre-reserve parking at the Kimmel Center garage. Unable to reserve parking for tomorrow. I was wondering whether parking will be a problem there, or anyplace else in the area and road restrictions for set up of mummers parade?

Hello JakieR, It definitely will be a problem to find any parking if not in a garage. Besides the Kimmel Center garage there are a few others in the area, I don't know if you've checked those as well; however if you cannot... More
