This was our first time in Philly and decided to cover the historical heritage attractions first....but there were so many! And I wasn't clear on which ones needed a ticket. So we decided to stop by the Visitor's Center, located across from the Liberty Bell....More

This is a perfect starting point and ending point if you want to hit the gift shops and food vendors. National Park Service employees, volunteers and docents have all the information you can possibly need for your visit.

There were people all over the place, the park service folks were rude, the staff at the visitor center seemed loopy and it was a holiday weekend, so we just chalked it up as a bad time to visit.

We were exploring these historic places and had a wonderful time. From Independence Hall to the Liberty Bell, Philly really embodies the cradle of democracy.

It's fine and clean. Cute tourist shop. Nice bathrooms. There could have been more...and I couldn't believe it's only open until 6 pm (7 pm during the summer...it's still light out...stay open for tourists).

One can find details on videos and posters for a great period of American history. Focused on important events and people that influenced the history. Events take place through the corridor. Guest center very helpful for other attractions as well.

Local volunteers re-enact 1700 activities while we wait for movies, tickets, etc. Get your tickets for Independence Hall here--but be in line outside by 815 a.m. to get tickets for the day! 2 short historical movies, walk thru historical pictoral area, free restrooms!

The visitors center is located very close to well known sites in Philadelphia- easy walk to Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, Betsy Ross House and Philadelphia Mint. Reasonably prices to park in lot under the Center and right off I- 95. We had a great day,...More
